Imagine a day without your cell phone and tell me what goes in your head? I feel very awkward without my cell phone, even if I forget it at home in the morning when I go to work. I don’t mind coming back to fetch it even if I’m already 20 minutes away from home. Now bloggers I want to what is it about cell phones that we tend to feel that we need to always have it around.

I was looking at Shwi and his wife, this was on their wedding day, but both couples had their cell phones in their hands. I would think that on your wedding day the person next to you *your wife or your husband* is the most important person in the world unless God communicates via phones as well.

Do you guys think it was necessary for both couples to have their phone in their hands? I mean I am sure there was some aunty that was taking the role of a wedding planner and making sure o-curry nama saladi are ready in time when the couple & guests arrived for lunch.

What about church, how do you feel when someone’s cell phone rings and they excuse themselves to answer it, is technology so important to us, that we can’t survive 2 hours without it?

Last week i 4got my phone @ home, I felt so lost, honestly, i dont think i can b without it, even for a day....this previous weekend i was @ home(venda), i use an MTN sim card on a Vodafone and the vodacom network/reception around our area is not really good, i was unable to make /receive calls for the whole day and needed to call ppl ASAP, so i ended up borrowing my mom's phone and put my sim card in it, um gonna get me those cheap phones just ukuthi when i go home, i wont struggle.... (BTW, my mom sed i finished her airtime even thou i used my own sim card and gave hers bak, she thinks the airtime is loaded on the fone, not the sim card),lol

To me a cellphone is a very important but not-to-be-carried-everywhere item.

As much as it is important but i cant switch it on to some places like formal gathering(church, funeral, function), that is why i recorder a voice message to tace care of business when i cant.

i can go a day without a cell phone or two without it as long as i have notified my regular callers.

I have grown up a bit I used to feel lost when left my cellphone at work or at home but now I'm not longer the way I used to be. I can survive couple of hours without. As for the phone ringing in the church eishhh kuyacika bandla no offense, angikhulumi ke emngcwabeni, everybody who calls me know ukuthi Sunday morning my phone is off ngisekerk no disturbance.

I can do without one. If i forget mine at home i carry on as normal and i do sometimes forget my foun in the office on a friday - i do without it for the weekend. i would definitely never go back home or to office if i forgot it there.

those who answer leave their fones on at church or at funerals are just plain rude. most of the time they are the ones with those old phones that dont have polyphonic ringtones!

surely one can do without a cellphone for an hour or two.

On my aunt's funeral, it looked so disrespectful to other people to see me having my cell phone on in the funeral, but i had no choise coz i was directing her friends who were coming to the funeral. my phone was on vabration but still i have to run outside to answer it. LOL

For example, this gal I know passed away on Monday 1/12/08, the day b4 guess what she said: "Please make sure that aftter my funeral, everyone has enough food to eat, even if it means they must have seconds"

OMG Shuga, u just reminded me of an incident we had at church a while back. This young Sunday school boy's fone rang by mistake, it said: "Mama awungi bhebhisa"........The Pastor almost had a heart attack. coz Sunday school kids always sit right at the front, so it was loud and clear for the Pasor. Eish ngeke, some ringtones are just too much, especially for kids.

I actually forgot mine at home today, but I am not in a state of panic. Just called it to make sure it was at home, and life goes on. It really is not a big deal.

Only problem comes in when I have to make a call, and dont have other people's phone numbers. Some friends are always on my case about leaving it on the drawer when I am at work, and I have told them I cant do a number 1 or number while answering a phone, no.

It irritates me when people forget to switch them off at church and it just rings, and then instead of switching it off they step on our toes to run and answer it.

And have u noticed the people with decent ringtones makesure their phones are off on silent at certain places like church, funerals or meetings, and then the Mshini wami ring tones people will have it blasting on the loudest volume and still they will answer: "hello mfethu, pls fone me ngabo 11 I am still at church"

As much as i cant go a day w/out my cellphone, i dont think it was appropriate for the couple (see pic above) to hang on to their cellphones on the wedding day...nogal. LOL at the bride...is it too much make-up or sumthng else?

i do that too Nonny, at home we do not answer each other fone unless otherwise.
this came about after my mom answered my fone and my then boyfriend was talking (slang) gaaning aan not noticing that it is not me on the line. but i think we should respect each other and not answer each others fones.

Last week, we were driving with my colleague from work. Fine, started in Century City and there were lots of bags in the car. I had my phone in my hand and when it was time for me to be dropped off at my place, it was already dark and he was tired as well. Fine, i got inside but then i thought that there is something i have left in that car, damn, my only precious gadget. I went to my neighbor and asked if i could use her phone to call mine so that my colleague can bring it back. He picked it up and said he was too tired to drive back to my place, i'd get my phone the following day at work. I said there's important numbers i had to get from my phone to give to my mother before 12pm that night and he asked me where he could get the numbers on my phone. I just hung up pretending as if i ran out of airtime. I can tell you now, it was so difficult for me to sleep because i knew he's very inquisitive because he thinks i belong to the same league as his ?( Gay). But, there is this gay friend of mine whom i flirt with almost everyday, he likes my attention and i sometimes call him lovey and promise to sleep at his place at times. Here is the problem now. I got to work the following day and my colleague was going to be late. When he arrived, firstly he did not greet me. After 20 minutes he told me that my phone is off because he has been receiving calls almost the whole night, telling me that i am such a busiest person on earth. In my mind, i had all these thoughts but i just decided to laugh up until he comes straight with me. I am sure he is convinced that i do boys and surely thinks that i want him as well. I know it, it's not my paranoia speaking. So, what i'm trying to say now is that, few hours without your phone can make everything bad for you. Liyinyani lona elokuba, our lives depend on the modern technology which we were never born with. At night while sleeping we do abo mxit, sondeza, facebook and internet. Imagine if you're used to doing that almost everyday and then you happen to forget your phone at some inquisitive gay colleague's car?

I used to be crazy about my cellular,but now I'm slowly but surely realising that it is not important to carry it around.By the way I have 3 and they are always on.It's a problem when I'm wearing a dress and carrying a small clutch bag coz they dont fit in it (N95,N70 and a Samsung my cousin got for me in England).At least now I can stay the whole day with them off...well almost,especially when I'm with the new brotherman (coz then I'm afraid the old one who hasn't been dumped officially will call and cause problems,LOL)

ndisakhula my sister went abroad then left us with her siemens C35 so i use 2fiddle wit it & it irritated my mom the next day i battery was flat so my mom charged it but didnt knw that u had 2press that start/NO button kakhulu so when i got bek 4rm skul ngabuliswa i mpama eshisayo....uphulile ifone ka Minkie wat if kuyabhoma kulu America how is he going 2get hold of us usile esisbetho somtana ..

my dad had a Nokia 6110, yooooooo what a big thing that is now, but then it was nice and small. we were so not allowed to touch or be anywhere closer to it.after a year or two he bought a 5110 and he gave the 6110 to my mom, shame my poor mom was so over the moon.
