The protocol requires us thank mjj for the tickets; thank u mjj. And ticket collection was hassle-free, thank you Lady at that desk! The venue was a church with big auditorium (no offerings were requested, thanx nkosi! ). From the start to the end the show was fabulously hot….! The following were the highlights as observed by the bloggers:
Blogger 1 wrote: Eish, I must be falling in love with Lusanda, or his Mom or Lusanda's tendancy to have his Mom by his side!. The Boy from Gugs (as he is popularly known here) was a trend-setter for the evening. His singing was marvellous! We went into tears when he rendered an item-on-stage with his Mom; this was definitely the highlight of, my colleagues! What a treat for the Mother City Concert! I had a brief chat & photo shoot with Mom’ Beja & the Aunts during the break! Ohh, she is such a nice, sweet & humble person! Can Mr Nkosi do the “I want To Sing Gospel With My Mom” (aka IWTSGWMM) show? We now know where these kids got their talent, humbleness, and God-praising background, ………..and we want more!
Lusanda's Mom
Then there was Charisma! She was great shame uSisi!; she ministered, preached & prayed well, and she did many songs. Although she communicated well with the Lord (I could feel the Holy Spirit), I was still disappointed at her for talking ‘less’ to the audience, especially that the show was touted as her Live cd recording! It was up to the 4th/ 5th song when Thsepiso came on stage that she started talking to the ‘us’ worshipers. Then she was on fire....! Fellows, look out for the cd; Charisma - Live at His People Christian Centre.
Lady Charisma- talking to the heavens
I will not comment any further about Sphu, Kgotso, Mzo, Thsepiso, Shannon, Thabisa, & Belinda- they outdone themselves! It was a feast for Capetonians. Eish mara Kgotso fellows, ….Kgosto, ….Kgotso! He translated all the Tswana/ Sotho songs & he sang them in Xhosa too, just to ensure that message went across. The crowed went wild as they could relate to him. He also preached like there was no tomorrow! Pastor Kgotso Boetie, will you please establish your church so that I can be a member? Rest be assured, we will all be there even if we have to do the butt-angle thing (aka that famous posture….LOL)! Well done Boetie!
Ntulie trio
Finally from me: Lungisani was very……. “Let’s say very professional”. I was taken by his stage presence; and in particular the way he commanded & had an authority on the stage. His trios, duets, etc were fabulous! I had a very good ‘interesting’ chat with him after the show! We talked about his SA FM interview a day before, and his up-coming CD recording! LOL at the answeres he gave to the questions I asked...!
Lungisani- I am singing gospel
The top 30 from Cape Town were also called on stage to do a line or two! I really did not enjoy this part because bebe krasa (their singing was sharp & noisy). I think they left the show before they were taught those voice & micro techniques by Nkubeko & the his Lady Pal (by the way, what was her name?
The duet with Shannon
Blogger 2 wrote: My highlights of the evening were Lungsta and Shannon's performance they sang so beautifully and gosh those kids can all sing, another one was off-course Lusanda and Mam' Bheja, the way his mother was so in command of the song was so wonderful.
We would like to properly thank mjj, thanx a million times! You have given us wonderful moments since the beginning of the show! Eish, perhaps we must give you that Christmas gift! We will buy you a parrot! Pliz don't RTS it (return to the sender).
Belinda doing her stuff
Finally we thank the IWTSG top 10 for giving us a fabulous night! They stayed behind for autographs, photographs, hugs and kisses…! That was very nice I must say! They actually talked passionately to each fan! But Belinda had so many relatives/ friend spulling her this side and that side! She literally had less time/ attention for fans! Let’s hope the relatives will buy her CD too..!
