June 2009 marks my 4 year anniversary as part of TVSA community. I’ve seen people come and go, I’ve been a spectator in many a fights, I’ve written a few blogs and I must say; I love this site. It makes me look forward to coming to work, it makes the day go by that much faster; it makes me more productive because I ensure that my work is done as quickly as possible so I can blog and I have made many friends on this site.
So I was thinking of the things we could do, to make blogging here at home as peaceful and delightful as possible.
1. Avoid writing Please Call Me’s (as per TVSA lingo) i.e. an article that is less than 5 sentences. Please respect the TVSA community enough to write something substantial
2. Do not leave blank responses on other people’s blogs. Its soooo 2008! If you are not challenged by the topic, nor interested in it, please feel free not comment. It’s OK!
3. Avoid going off topic on other people’s blogs. There’s nothing as disrespectful as seeing “Hello Dimags, *waving like a raving lunatic*” on someone else’s blog. That’s what guest books are for. Plus we have special off-topic blogs written to get us talking on this and that. Just don’t do it on someone else’s blog.
4. If you are going to criticise a blog, let it be constructive criticism.
5. If you are going to quote someone, like another blogger, please make the quote in italics or bold...
6. Lastly but definitely not least (I am sooo guilty of this one). Stay as close to tv inspired blogs as possible. After-all this site is called TVSA – we are meant to be the authority of tv in south africa. This does not necessarily mean recapping, but it must be something that you may have seen on tv and it got you thinking.
These are the rules I’ll try to blog by this year, what other rules do you think we could add?
Holler!
