Modest Celebrity!! Hmmmmm

Girls and Boys welcome back into the new year....hope you are all back in one piece not pieces!

I've always wondered to myself why some celebrities refuse to be titled or reffered to as "celebrities"...I don't know if I and them know and understand the same english but according to my understanding the word celebrity means "somebody who is famous during his or her own lifetime" and famous means "known and recognized by many people" so tell me is Thandiswa Mazwayi not well known as the latter explanation of the word famous explains???

I mean seriously, I was reading an article on sunday on a publication which I will not mention...anyway moving swiftly right along, Thandiswa Mazwayi apparently does not like being called a celebrity...I mean honestly what gives??? she is well known a term for such people is celebrity, Famous, Eminent,  recognised and the list goes on and on and on

So I really need sum1 to explain to me why Thandiswa and many other celebs will not just accept and live with the fact that they are by right celebrities...just get over it! finish and klaar!!!

Toxic : "Thandiswa explained in the interview (SundayTimes/CityPress) why she doesn't like being called a celebrity."

I hear what you are saying Toxic and I read what Thandswa said in her defence....but perhaps I didn't pose my question correctly...

My question is...If sum1 teaches at a school then they are reffered to as a "Teacher" if someone does poetry then that person is reffered to as a "Poet" so why is it that when sum1 is well known and recognised by many refuse to be reffered to as a celebrity which is a word to describe that particular person as suggested by the dictionary?????Honestly nowwwww......

"Because aboSHWASHWI"  So if you are not reffered to as a celebrity then Shwashwi keeps away from you??? or how does it work?? I love Thandiswa Mazwai to bits....I just used her as an example coz she's the most recent person to make thats statement....I have nothing against her...if anything I have great admiration for her. Ayoubanessss
