A reminder to all bloggers and users of TVSA that hate speech is prohibited in terms of South Africa's constitution and is unlawful behaviour.
TVSA upholds the rule of law in this country and as such we do not permit hate speech to be published on this website.
Good, healthy debate is necessary in any society and we have always encouraged our readers to debate all topics, no matter how sensitive.
But in our site
Terms and Conditions (which you agreed to uphold when you registered on the site) we drew a line and when that line is crossed we have to take action by removing any unlawful posts or blogs.
We have no desire to influence your opinions nor do we deny you your right to those opinions. But when those opinions are designed to promote or propagate hatred against a person or group of people based on their race, gender, age, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, language ability, ideology, social class, occupation, mental capacity or any other distinction that might be considered by some as a liability, we do have the right to remove them from our site.
We reserve the right to remove any blog or post we feel constitutes hate speech at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice, effective immediately, for any reason whatsoever. See the site
