Episode 4: Lebza's Devastating Truth

Written by Cande from the blog Soul City Season 9 on 10 Feb 2009

Episode 4 begins with Lebza testing for HIV, and finding out she is HIV +. Her like thousands of other south African woman out there has been infected her loving, caring husband that she trusted. This goes back to a question that ask uguthi how many people is this "trust" going to infect?? What needs to be done for us people, particularly women to learn that you can love them all but trust no one??

Lebza knows immediately that her husband is the one who cheated, hurt & distressed she confronts the husband at the shop. And to my suprise, Zimele wants to shift the blame and accuse his wife of cheating. Knowing very well that he has been struggling with keeping his pants up..
This is where i went like WTF??? instead of being a man and admiting your wrong doings since you can see what they have caused for your family, you find the easiest way out which is to falsely accuse your wife..
The whole day nje ungathi Lebo was monitoring her husband's moves after finding out she is HIV +, obviously she is trying to parcel pieces together and try understand how it all happened.
I dont know but, i feel Lebo did not play the part well when she found out her results.I would have expected her to be devastated, convince us nje that she has just find out that she is HIV +.
We see uLulu going to buy vegetables in the streets, and asking for half potatoes & half carrots so she can get half price.LOL!!!this made me realise how much i miss the olden days when we use to buy half loaf of bread, or even a quarter ob bread back ezilaleni.I dont know if its just me or Lulu looked to overdressed for tonight's episode. or is it to try convince her friends that she is working?? a friend of mine even smses asking uguthi were does she get money for the clothes from.

Lulu have you never heard of 112?? its a FREE EMERGENCY SERVICE on your phone, or did you want to go to the hospital on a Gusesh?
Im queit disappointed because uZakes thinks uLulu has broken up with Zimele but yena she used the first opportunity she got to get in contact with Zimele again.
uGogo suprised me when she went like "wena ugubani?(sp)", i mean really was it the same Gogo that couldn't even say where her pills are when she was still @ her house? It turned out she suffered a mild stroke and she gets hospitalised that evening

Koketso(Lulu's sister) reveals her secret to Dineo(Lulu's friend), and we see Lulu going to explain herself, and Dineo understanding.

This should later affect Dineo & Bulela's relationship because judging from tonight's episode the 2 Maths geniuses will be hooking up.

We see Zimele going to meet his friends after taking ugogo to the hospital. do people get that heartless? i mean after finding out your own wife is HIV+??
First he still goes with his nyatsi to take her gogo to the hospital, spends some time with her and goes to the pub.
But luckily something speaks to him, and he leaves the horny girls to go apologise and come clean with the wife.
But was it really only 1 person that he cheated with, or he didnt want to seem like he was too bad to his wife??

like Lebo said tonight "its bad enough cheating, but doing it without protection is something else"

Please lets look after ourselves and our loved ones.

How did you see Episode 4??

ps: pix to follow

Aowa, it cant be one person how about Lulu........he was just lying so that he would not look to bad. but that is besides the point because you can get infected even if it is once without protection.

Sweet recap thanks Cande. I sat there watching and thinking to myself, I wonder if that girl who is doing recaps on TVSA is awake..........................

I was also not convinced with the way that Lebo disclosed to Zimele that she is positive. remember how sensitive she was about the pregnancy she told her friend first before the husband and I somehow expected her to speak to her first and then only tell Zimele next week after sulking for a while at least.

LMAO!!!!!!! Eish man Cande, in emergencies, these things slip outta yr mind.

uGogo suprised me when she went like "wena ugubani?(sp)", i mean really was it the same Gogo that couldn't even say where her pills are when she was still @ her house?

hahhhhhahahahahahah!!!!!!!! Gogo had recovered enough to gain enough control of her speech. I laughed when Zakes put on mazaza just before he helped Lulu lift Gogo from the car.

I feel so bad for Lebo shame. Its not only hard finding out u are positive but the prospect of having this baby now who may also be positive must be very hard to take.
And to think she tried to stay faithful to her husband who was the whole time walking around with his pants around his ankles.

@last i saw Soul City and was hurt

This goes back to a question that ask uguthi how many people is this "trust" going to infect?? What needs to be done for us people, particularly women to learn that you can love them all but trust no one??

i guess it iseasier when you are nt married(not to trust your partner) than when you are married. Firstly every relationshi is based on love and trust, and when the relationship heads to marriage well that alone is trusting the next person enough to spend your life with and in most cases when people are married they wanna have kids so obviously they wont use protection. I would like to believe that most cautious people do test before engaging to sex bt that maybe only happens once and when you atartsuspecting something, which in case of Lebza it doesnt look like she was suspecting something from her husband until she got the news ... i might be wrong because it was my first time watching the drama

I dont know if its just me or Lulu looked to overdressed for tonight's episode.
I think they are just showing us why that her sugar dady is taking good care of her.

nna ke bone o kare she ran out of options then thought that Zimele can help, since the neighbours were gone since the morning.....mara when you are stressing and freaking out the last thing you think of is a free number (where you will probably be on hold for the next available operator)

eish gogo le ena...she could heve just assumed gore precious hired a car and stop asking unnecessary qs....

he leaves the horny girls >>>>>>>>LMAO ei wena cande was there a need to emphasise thier horniness???

i never liked Soul City because of the clinic scenes, but i'm so impressed with this season, even when they took gogo to hospital we did not see the hospital lines or casualty or anything like the previous Soul City's ...

10 Feb 2009 12:50

i believe we act differently to different thing. to me Lebo acted the best way after receiving her results... i guess u just want to tell the perso who infected u......
yesterday's showed how easy HIV can spread... its bad getting infected while been honest....

nda
10 Feb 2009 12:57

I feel we women are so much in deniel, i feel the time has come that we buy our boyfriends condoms, for them to get the message.... Clearly almost all the man cheat and its a reality, but do we have to sit at home and wait for them to infect us, or do something bout it... As for lebza she should have acted the part differently, she wasnt too angry, i feel she was too calm like she just heard she has a curable disease like Flu....
She shouldnt have even slept in that house let alone lock her husband out, he clearly was not supportive, what else does she have to loose anyway....

the yesterday episode was very bad for Lebo especially that she's pregnant for God's sake and she need to be ttreated like a queen now she found out she's hiv positive that is ver stressing to her she may loose her baby..
About Lulu I understand ur poor but she could have dialled 10777 for free service.

Kani what stopped Zimela from telling Lulu about his Hiv status, i suppose because he wanted to tell her.

nda
10 Feb 2009 15:22

Cande i feel in a way, we are trying to make them taste the reality that we do know what they get up 2 out there and they might turn from the hurtfull ways...

its just to hope they do change...

Obviously the thought of us maybe going through their wallets and finding out that there were four condoms and now 1 left, how will he explain it...

I actually know some people who actually count the stock and she's forever fighting losing battles...
They always get away with things anyway...

I feel Zimele should have told Lulu about Hiv but now its going to spread from lulu to the boyfriend...
