Who are you?

Written by Simphiwe from the blog Your Identity on 10 Feb 2009
Favourite this post

To the youth around the globe, this is a call for you to examine yourself and tell us about yourself. This is an opportunity for you to share with us why you do things the way you do.

this is the time to share and substatiate your belief, to be open minded, to let yourself be understood and understand others as well in their own terms.

This is the call to end assumptions and do away with the labels that are driving our characters the wrong way.I believe that the world to survive needs a youth which understands itself, that is rooted in something.

If you are there and you think that other people do not really understand you this is your time to tell them, this is your time to speakout your mind, a time to express yourself, a time to share your feelings with us and an opportunity for you to share with us the questions you might be having about various spheres of life.

This is the time to build up each other, when you see me what comes to your mind, what do you think of me? Find out if what you see is what I really am.

Hope to get your comments flooding this blog, it is about your identity.Do you know where you belong, where do you come from, where are you presently???

See you soon: Simm

Who I am

I am the result of the infidelity in a loveless marriage
Marriage that’s based on abuse and belittle-ment
Marriage that’s foundation is money and no love
Marriage that satisfies the outsiders and not the insiders
Marriage that was condone by our culture

I am the mistake that occurred when someone wanted to ease the pain
The pain caused by being forced to marry someone you don’t love
Thinking that one night stand with your true love will heal all
But soon realisng that you made a huge mistake, and regretting it.

The irony is that, I am everything but mistake
Ti’s that mistake that now knows that you are a mother
Ti’s that mistakes that takes care of u and ur offsprings
Ti’s that mistake that sees ur pain & take it away
Ti’s that mistake that is ur Rock and ur strength

That one night stand did heal all
For you now have a protector
So like ur other kids, but so different
In many ways that you, I and those concerned know.

Yes I a m a huge mistake, a very worthy one too
Imagined hadn’t you made that mistake, where wud u be now
What wud u be eatin and who wud b sending ur kids to school.
Who wud b helping u burry ur husband, bein a dog as he was
About your other kids, like father like offsprings.

Pity, I wont live ma life as that, I have more to offer
They say after storm comes a rainbow
I am more colorful than the rainbow and more powerful

I am not who you made me to be, the mistake
I am who I choose to be, the angel

I am the angel, from God and to many.

Yepp now I ma crying

My siblings think I am the odd one, umgqakhwe
How ignorant, for I was created out of love
Take away the consequences, and look closely
If it werent for the culture, my mother cud have narried his love

So thats why I am like this
I am a product of love, and I spread love
Obstacles
surfaced then and broke a good thing
I have the power to beat any obstacles
My creation doesnt define me,
My character does, I am me and i am proud.

Thata, Andi!!! Thata! That poem is nice... I can only plagiarise if I have to be poetic...

My fave poem is Phenomenal Woman by Maya angelou... and deep in me, I believe I am... Phenomenal, I am... I am a Phenominal woman!

Phenomenal Woman
Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I'm telling lies.
I say,
It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It's the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can't touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can't see.
I say,
It's in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I'm a woman

Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Now you understand
Just why my head's not bowed.
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It's in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need of my care,
'Cause I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

BIG QUESTION NOW SIMPHIWE, WHO ARE YOU? o seka re tsietsa tu!

Dimago
11 Feb 2009 13:59

I am an African

I owe by being to the hills and the valleys, the mountains and the glades, the rivers, the deserts, the trees, the flowers, the seas and the ever-changing seasons that define the face of our native land.

My body has frozen in our frosts and in our latter day snows. It has thawed in the warmth of our sunshine and melted in the heat of the midday sun. The crack and the rumble of the summer thunders, lashed by startling lightening, have been a cause both of trembling and of hope.

The fragrances of nature have been as pleasant to us as the sight of the wild blooms of the citizens of the veld.

The dramatic shapes of the Drakensberg, the soil-coloured waters of the Lekoa, iGqili noThukela, and the sands of the Kgalagadi, have all been panels of the set on the natural stage on which we act out the foolish deeds of the theatre of our day.

At times, and in fear, I have wondered whether I should concede equal citizenship of our country to the leopard and the lion, the elephant and the springbok, the hyena, the black mamba and the pestilential mosquito.

A human presence among all these, a feature on the face of our native land thus defined, I know that none dare challenge me when I say - I am an African!

Who am I?
My first answer would probably be my name.
But, my name does not describe who I am on the inside.
I could then give the title of my profession.
But that is what I do.
I could then tell you I am a wife, a sister, and a daughter.
But those are my relationships.

I ask again, who am I?

I could describe myself as an extrovert and outgoing.
That is my personality.
I am organized in planning events.
But that is a gift God has given me.
I could describe my appearance, but that is not who I am either.

So many times I have believed what others say I am.
If I receive affirmation, then I feel worthwhile.
However, when I receive criticism, then I feel like a failure.
I have chosen to ride the roller coaster of emotions,
Instead of believing the truth of what God says about me.
I have tried to work harder to prove that I am worthwhile.
Yet every time I mess up or fail, I am reminded that I will never measure up.

I will never be pretty enough or talented enough.
I will never be skinny enough or do enough good things of the church.
I will never be a good enough wife or sister or daughter.
But, I keep trying harder and harder.
I believe the lie that if I continue to try harder, I will finally be "good" enough.

One day, God gently said to me,
"Stop trying so hard to prove yourself to others.
Get your worth from me. I've already given it to you.
Remember my grace. It's a free gift and nothing you can achieve by trying harder.

Rest in my grace.
You are working so hard to have a certain position in the eyes of others,
To be well-liked and to have popularity.
You want to be appreciated for what you do.

But I want you to know that you already have an elevated position.
Because you have a relationship with my son, Jesus Christ,
You are a part of my kingdom as my daughter, and co-heirs with Christ.
Because you are the daughter of a King,
You are given the position of being a princess.

You are my princess, a royal princess.
Remember that an earthly princess is not special because of who she is or what she does.
She has status and position because of who her dad is, a king.
She has royalty in her blood.

You have royalty in your blood as well.
You are the daughter of a King.
And no matter what you do, your status will never change.

I have chosen you and I have a plan for your life.
I will not forget you and will be with you always.
I have engraved you in the palm of my hands.

Rest in the knowledge of who you are in me.
Nothing else will ever be enough.
You are my daughter and I love you!"

Right! I’ll be short but detailed then you can ask me later for more…
I am an African from South Africa residing in the southern part of South Africa – Eastern Cape. I am black and proud hence they call me umXhosa. Raised by a single lovely mom, with nothing at times to sustain us God has been my rock. With lack of resources and means many thought it was over but njengenyibiba ikhule’ s’xhotyeni I am where I am today…still pushing.

I did not get all I wanted but I never cease dreaming big because Hope is my driving force. Sometimes I fell but it wasn’t comfortable to stay there hence I got up again. From disadvantaged background since I wasn’t disabled I was able to find my way amongst da maize. Some looked at me with shame always feeling sorry for me but I had a secret that forever gave me joy… “That, I can do all things through Christ the Lord who gives me strength”.

I am the one whose mission is to do all that considered impossible…studying without any support from the real family…stay focused on my studies and unmoved from my God…loving the unlovable…being available in times of need and loneliness…
This is real….
I am a child of God whose home town is Indwe (too small to be known) but based in Grahamstown for education. I’m doing my final year in Journalism and Media studies @Rhodes…
I’m not yet there but I can see the way…I’m not saying that I’ve made it but as the morning star I bring light to my future. I am a journalist…I speak, I write, write, write…yes I do write
I’m leading SCO in Higher Institutions Section Nationally but what is important is that my mission is to proclaim the unmixed gospel of the Kingdom of my father.
I didn’t have the father hence I father those around me…yes I’m reachable though. I tried many things but failed to achieve some but that doesn’t make me a failure…I choose not be one. U 2 can choose your future…
I live with and love people…they play a huge role in building my character just as I do the same to them. I don’t expect people to understand me but for the sake of harmony I understand other people.
I might not know all the keys to success but the only key I surely know to failure is trying to satisfy every one using our bodies. I live for my self and those whom my life touches. I have a space for others but if you build a wall stay right behind it…
That is me Simphiwe Kanityi…..hope this works now hey!

Mzeke vs Zuma

Yes they say Jacob Zuma is mzeke-zeke, bayanikhohlisa
Mzeke-zeke is one of the funniest men alive
Zuma finds humour in insulting the women specie
Mzeke-zeke covers his face with a bara clava, it’s a stunt
Zuma needs more than a bara-clava to hide his stunts

They say mzeke-zeke ke Sbuda
He’s been to tertiary school and all
How do you mistake that for Zuma
He will rule till Jesus comes.

Mzeke donated money for Khabzela
Khabzela had died from Aids related diseases
Zuma is indenial of aids and them facts
Zuma is using tax money for his crimes

Kodwa nibafanisa njani laba babini.

Zuma is involved in the arms deal
Mzeke uses him arms to get record deals
Mzeke is an entertainer
Zuma is a leader
You cant lead by entertainment
Zuma is Msholozi by name
Mzeke uyashosholoza by career

So Mzeke isn’t Jacob Zuma

who am i??

I am a your leader

I am darker than Barack Obama
I am younger than Nelson Mandela
I am hollier than Desmond Tutu
I am shorter tha Helen Zille
I am your leader

I lack the selfish-ness that Mugabe possess
I lack the academic degrees that he possesses
My beard is shorter than that of Osama
And so is my anger and vengeance

I am smarter than George Bush
I know I am not the only one though
I am environmentally as Al Gore
And as caring as Mahatma Gandhi

I am as vocal as Bantu Holomisa
But less rude, not even a little bit rude
Unlike Ebrahim Rasool, I recognize all religions
But I don’t belong to the ACDP

My dream is bigger that Martin Luther Kings
For his contained some selfish-ness
My dream is clearer than the snow
My dream is to lead you
I am your leader.

I have great plans for the world
Start with reducing global warming
And go to increasing job opportunities
This is just a start, My dream is bigger

Yes I am your leader
I exist between your ribs, within your soul
Yes, that’s me, your leader.

To have a great leader, be the leader urself
SA’s we need to look at ourselves first
Change comes from within.

I am your leader, vote for me, for I represent you.

I am black

I am late to church, work, and everything else, EXCEPT when the "club" is free before 11:00 PM.
I refer to diabetes as "SHUKELA OR ISIFO SESWEKILE".
I consider "clubbing" as a monthly expense.
I know people who can use swear words and religion ALL IN ONE SENTENCE, e.g"Thixo wam, lekaka yomntwana iyawazinyele." and "Awe Jesu wam awubheke ooNokuthula sekuma namadoda kusekuncane, akufebi nje kwenzokunye"
I invite co-workers and all of their friends to their child's christening party, which happens to have a professional DJ, alcohol but only about 3 kids and 50 adults in attendance.
I would display the labels in designer suits to wear to a class reunion and try to return it the next day after spilling beer on it, only to tell the sales person it didn't fit.
I could play R 100 worth of lottery numbers a week but won't invest in the stock & shares. (I follow NtandoN advise)

I'm equally worried Cody let alone the fact that I do not understand the language but I feel as if he is an angry bloger or something, I stand to be corrected though.

Well I'm back!
Right Mjj I'm at Rhodes -Grahamstown campus.

what else??? Oh! language!!! I thought by this time we would at least use the lanugage that would accommodate us all...I am aware of the freedom of speech and all it entails as well as of being proudly South Africans (multi-lingual country) some words amazes me such as what what aka mathata wrote <<gore o pakile go le kakang>>. Also sticking to the topic is the way to go, so if we can just fix those few thing all would be good.Yes, by not going back to them as to change them but change the future -what we will do!

Otherwise you are interesting people to communicate with! that's so sweet of you.
