Looking Back

I have seen and done many things in my life, some I am proud of and some not so proud but I refuse to have regrets. I believe everything happens according to GOD's plan.
Although we are obviously given choices- now my question is where is the line? When is it GOD's plan and when is it our choice? If you could go back to when you were a teenager, say 16yrs old. If you could write yourself a letter what would you say?
Here is mine...

DUDE!  WTF!!!
What do you think you are doing sitting thinking about (insert name of boyfriend at the time) when you should be concentrating on what Mr Magongo is saying. I am only saying this because I know how your life will turn out if you don't start listening in class. You have so much potential, don't waste it maan!
Life isn't just about clothes, shoes and boys ( although they are delicious), there is so much more. Promise me you will go out there and explore your world, experience all that you can, don't accept explanations without evidence, read everything you can, as often as you can and most importantly...LOVE YOU!
It doesn't matter who says what about you, you are beautiful..inside and out. You are exactly the way GOD meant for you to be. Stand tall and be proud of your uniqueness..there is no one out there like you so make the most of it.
Please promise me you will not let anyone force you to have sex with them just to prove your love for them, thats BULL!!
Sex is great, but don't rush into it, there is more than enough time and I promise you, you will be brilliant when the time comes HAH!!
Also keep your mother's shoes safe, they will so make a comback later and I would'nt want you to regret your misuse of them.
Follow your dreams, no matter what, follow your dreams girl.
I love you very much.
PS you turn out fine don't worry.

I used to write myself a letter on each birthday, but I've since stopped, I should start again.

It doesn't matter who says what about you, you are beautiful..inside and out. You are exactly the way GOD meant for you to be. Stand tall and be proud of your uniqueness..there is no one out there like you so make the most of it.

I don't understand this, maybe it's too abstract for me.

Anyway, I'll write what I'd write in my letter as it comes to me...for now:

You can! You really can. Whatever it is, you can do it. Where you need help, ask for it. But you can. Your really can.

Nice one billyb

Letter to myself would have camein handy at 17/18-when I passed matric and went to study in a city by myself. See in high school (from grade 10)I was a born-again Christian-the no nonsense type,no bf etc.

I went to tech and all changed (well I was really dissapointed about my results and felt God had let me down) I started dating, sex..drinking and smoking only came in later...Now I can't even go to a church where they'll tell me that uNkulunkulu uyasindisa-i just prefer amazwi ayisikhombisa nje once a year...With eerything that I know now-i can't even draft a letter to myself.

Rene, old clothes and shoes have come back re-invented so if u'd kept your mom's old wardrobe, you'd be rocking it now. i think that's what she means.

@ TheLady.. I think we all came out of school thinking we can conquer the world and do whatever we felt like without even thinking of the consequences.

When is it GOD's plan and when is it our choice?

My belief:
1. Our choice is to identify oppotunities/resources and make use of them to become better person, and make history. It is our choice to make it or brake it.
2.God's plan: He gave us a chance to live and ours to utilize this opportunity.

Dear nice

There is more to life than being Miss little perfect all the time. What are you doing always studying and thinking about how to solve for x, go out there and play with other kids and stop watching so much TV.

Now that you are about to start university I want to set aside time for having fun, and stop it with the chatrooms, go out and meet people......I mean real people.

Yours truly,
Nice

he hee, and I would not be so single now and shy. I did not have many friends because I was the serious nerd type, and dont take any nonsense from men. Only if I could let things go and not have tried to be a perfect kid I would tolerate some mistakes. But then again I would not be me, my unique self.

No regrets

, God has given humans the best thing ever free will. You choose what you want but when he did not plan something for you and yo choose, it will turn out to be a disaster and you will have to take a step back and see where you went wrong and start all over

Hey BA

Always remember that you will never be clever than your parents, pay attention to every advise they give you, you might not understand some of the things now but it will come handy one day and you'll be thankful. Cherish every gift they give you, one day it will be the only reminder of how hard they tried to give you all they could afford. Understand that, if they dont agree with you, it is because they know better not because they dont want you to get what you think you need.

Be true to yourself always. Be concerned about what God thinks of you than what people think or will think of you.

Keep Well
BA
