Here's some juice proof you may have wondered about as I have.

There's a new series starting on kykNet tonight (7 April at 20h00) called Getroud Met Rugby. It's a Footballers Wives type drama/soapie that's about a fictional provincial rugby team called Die Stryders - which is actually the Springboks considering Joostgate etc.

There's no rugby in it - apparently there's only playing for about two minutes across the show - so it's about the dirt and tackling that happens off the field, specifically in relation to the WAG's (wives and girlfriends)

The show recently had a launch party, I went along and chatted to Mark Fish's on-again/off-again wife Loui for the first time.

Loui's a presenter on kykNet's celebrity show Glitterati and she was at the shindig filming an insert for it.

I've always been finished by the idea of speaking to WAGs directly to hear if everything we think is true, actually is ... here's what she had to say:

loui_smallTashi: In a way, you are Getroud Met Rugby?
Loui: I think there’s a lot that happens behind the scenes in rugby and in soccer. At the end of the day, they’re all normal people and they all make mistakes - whatever’s in the show won’t be surprising, to say the least.

Tashi: What’s the most difficult thing about being a sportsman’s wife? Out of everything?
Loui: The biggest challenge is probably ... for the children, not having their daddy there for birthdays and Christmases and also, the groupies. There are a lot of groupies that want your husband.

Tashi: And the best thing?
Loui: When you know the real person. The person nobody else knows.

Tashi: If you met somebody who was just about to hook up with a sportsman - what would you say?
Loui: Don’t do it! Don’t do it, it’s a very,very, very ... it’s a very lonely life.

Tashi: What about the other wives - is there a lot of competition between them?
Loui: Of course, of course. Who’s got the best husband, who’s the richest, who’s wearing the Gucci shoes?

Tashi: Really? I’ve never known for sure. (It's almost as if it can't be true it's such an urban .. truth .)
Loui: I promise you.

Tashi: In terms of your relationship with Mark - are you still married?
Loui: No, we’ve been separated for nine months, he’s moved back into the cottage though and we’re very, very good friends. We’ve always said that if we were to get divorced we’d stay great friends and we are - he even likes my new boyfriend!

It should be exacting to be a footballer’s wife..

How do you mean Tynt? You mean it's the price for getting their muscles and beefy packages?

lol Tashi, what i meant was, its quite a challenge to the wives... I guess it’s tough, with the groupies involved, and yes for them to be beefy en stuff, just attracts a whole lot of outsiders!

but hey, its the standard requirement for the position, one needs to be muscled, and physically fit ... lol

I pity the wives!!!

>>one needs to be muscled, and physically fit ... lol<<

lol- too true! They obviously have to gym too.

I also feel for them - they can't help it that they happened to fall for them and then need to handle everything else  too - 'spesh if it's a very genuine relationship.

The one concession for them seems to be they can have a husband plus a boyfriend, - Loui's final words were SO Gabi Solis I thought.
