14 June, the Confederation Cup kicks off at Coca Cola Park (Ellis Park) and here are those trusted to represent the nation:

Provisional Squad (still has to be trimmed to 23 before 4 June '09):

The funniest thing about Benni's exclusion is that he was talking about what a privilege it was going to be to play against Spain and that he's looking foward to scoring lotsa goals against them lol.

@ BS he's angry with the younger players....they are accusing him, Zuma and Vilakazi of being the " president's men" . they say he does as he pleases, comes late for training and since Baloyi is the assistant coach he always includes himself in the starting 11.

there is just too much in fighting at Chloorkop!

as much as i love my team, i dont see them winning their game against Amazulu and even if we do, Santos would have to beat SSU, and i dont see that happening, although they did score three goals against Chiefs.....

so ja, mabhakabhaka we'll just have to settle for the second spot...story of our lives i guess.

Why would you be a "playing" coach and NOT include yourself in the starting line up? It's not fair...would he assess himself and say I'm not perfoming so I'm not gona select myselft? Hayibo, he must either be a coach or player, not both! If he continues then he must be prepared to deal with all the complaints that follow.

@Cande: Final team has not been announced yet...it's only the local based players in camp now, the overseas guys are expected to join them by month end.

There are a lot of teams (Pirates, Sundowns, even Chiefs) who are after Mabhudi but he hasn't left Ajax yet.
Apparently he has a traditional ceremony tomorrow, that's why he didn't pitch but the worst thing is that he didn't even phone the team management to tell them he won't be coming or will join them late.
I'm not bothered by him being left out, he hasn't done any wonders for Bafana.

About Henyekane, the Bafana team manager, Sipho Nkumane said yesterday that Henyekane was left out because he hasn't played on a huge stage...(something like that) .and you wonder what huge stages have the other players in the Bafana team played at.

What a lame excuse ....there are lots of issues also in the management (me thinks) akere plays all his matches in a stadium, sometimes fully packed stadium, or maybe they thought he will have a nevours breakdown when he see many ngamlas in the stadium....

Hey Chiefs they are saying they wont engage a local coach. they should try Steve Barker. the other thing is the management having influence on who should be selected.
