Hot Heads on Gen Forum

Following up from my blog, Amza raised this, and this is something that has been really close to my heart lately! I was thinking on posting on this topic yesterday but didn't find the time!

To be honest the Generations forum is one forum that I always avoid period! There are a lot of hot heads there bathong...and the truth is DW is not the only one! I was even thinking about it yesterday and thinking we need to seriously talk guys. The forum always gets swayed into public spats about things that have nothing to do with Generations! People are just crazy and even newbies get pulled into this irritating behaviour! What happened to agreeing to disagree? Why do we have to be so emotional when debating? And why do you pick a bone with someone you don't even know???

Or maybe is just that easy to fight with people you don't know?

I don't comment on the blog but i rely on it to keep tabs on what's happening on Generations. I find it strange that most bloggers on that blog do not comment on other blogs but ya there are rude people there. It's easier to fight with strangers for we don't know your weaknesses.

Pos I don't go there at all. I think it's a very childish blog and I will not learn anything from them. I just read what is going on in Gen and never go back there. I didn't care about what happens there but now it's gone too far because DW decided to come to other blogs and write nonsense.

Why hasn't anyone blocked that person by now as really they are looking for attention................

Its sad what is happening there and pity a lot of moderators dont read that blog, otherwise its has become a boxing ring and a playfield for adults with childish behaviour

what i can tell you, its what i believe in, if you are not happy, if you have a beef in your life if you dont have a concrete decent thing hapening for you or maybe you are angry at yourself for failers that come your way in your life, trust me my friend you will take it out on innocent people.

Mina i dont care about people who are bored and have nothing to do.

all i would like to say is please bloggers dont entertain any insults or any bad things said about you.

if we ignore all this insults eventually he/ she will see that he is fighting a loosing battle and leave us alone.

Well, as I have already mentioned on the Bribe blog that, this is supposed to be exciting even when disagreements arise we must never be disreapectful of each other in as much as we dont know each other we have no right whatsoever to be calling each other names and using vulgar language.

I also go there to read about whats coming up in the month, even if you want to comment you have to scroll down down down to post your comment. The bloggers there also make it impossible to comment on any topic becoz there are always stupid fights about nothing.

Then there are the "hello's" "hi's" "wavings" "byes" etc
Then the emoticons....
Then the confusing names e.g. ms tebby + mr tebby
Then the name callings....
Then the vulgar language, ubukrwada noku qhaqhadeka kwexhapoti zonongqisa.

Is it possible to disable replies from the Gen Teasers?
I seriously beleive that will be the only way to avoid all that.
If they really want to talk about Gen they can write weekly blogs.

i luv the gen blog to bits the ppl there are carefree we blog about anything and not only about gen. we'll the insults r sumtimes irritating but fact is we have fun in the end. DW is beyond vulgar i dont think any1 has ever gone that far on the gen blog hence i will support any1 who starts a boycott to remove her from TVSA.

I've never paid any attention to the chats on that forum, but not too long ago i read up something about moderators and their responsibilities, and wat i understood was that Hot Heads are everywhere and unfortunately they don't know how to control themselves, and thats why in jails u have wardens to control criminals, in mental hospitals u have those male nurses to control the mentaly disturbed and in chat forums u have moderators who are suposed to steer the chats in the right direction. Anything out of line should be deleted and repeat offenders should have their accounts terminated.

Interesting Dali that you want someone else to be boycotted ...I'm sure there are a lot of people who also want you to be boycotted!

What is considered an insult to another is a joke to someone else!

The other day I visited the gen forum and I found a blogger by the name of Ahamzala calling people swines! I thought it wasn't funny but others might thought of it as a joke. And this is trully where the problem is! You think that you are innocent but some people might think that you are not , and that you are out to get them or something! How about sticking to the topic at hand and if there are any personal issues we want to address we should go to each's guestbooks.! *sigh*

The hello's, etc, happen to each and every blog.
ms.tebby.......it is because one can register with ten different names and the system cannot read that, the only person we know and the one you, yourself you know is Ms tebby.

l don't have a problem with people chatting about anything on that blog as long as there is 0% vulgar. Anyone can attack me but l don't give a damn because they don't know me. That blog has an MD, so l suggest that if the moderators don't visit that blog, the job be given to her as she might be able to delete all the unneccessary or vulgar replies.
l personal have tried to reason with the bloggers that were to vulgar, but l failed. And that way l decided to ignore there comments and l can tell you some did not last long, they just dissappeared.

@Molilo......Disabling the Gen blog is not a solution, just bear in mind that TVSA is not the only site that has Gen teasers and by doing that it is opening opportunities to the competitors and it will loose revenue itself.

That Blog only needs a moderator to delete anything that is not relevant.

@BigMama I hear you, my suggestion was for it to be reviewd weekly, like what Brown Shuga used to do. That will enable them to discuss Gen and the owner of the blog will be able to delete unnecessary comments.
Unlike the teasers coz the admin do not go there.

I am not defending rude bloggers but sometimes some bloggers can press that button u don’t normally use & babes if you do that 2 me then i will deal with u. I can put my ladyness (if this name exists) apart & bark lyk a dog.

This is so true. The Gen khandashisas (Hot Heads) have made it impossible to enter the Teasers or even post a comment. The one good thing is that the hot heads know that Gen Teasers is the only place that they can go that wild in coz in any other blog they know we will sort them out.

I like Molilo's idea to disable replies in the Gen Teasers, coz vele most of the Hot Heads would spend decades putting a blog together, so that should keep them a lil' silent for a while!

The Gen blog scares me...i cannot take bullies in real life...and its no different in print...
But i figured..if i cant stand the heat im must mos get out of the kitchen..because its ammazing how some pple like what is happening..and those who dont are like a little worms in a pond...they are dismissed...sssad i think....or is it called freedom of what what?

Bigmama u can't reason with Hot Heads period! thats how they are as a people not just here mo tvsa. Its very unfortunate really. They come in all shapes and sizes, all races, all age groups, all moods, believe me my friend u won't win this one, instead it just might rub off on you, its a contagious thing you see,because as you try to instill civility and calmness among them you end up realising that ur intellect and general subtle approach is defeated and u only up end left with the option of resorting to communicate in their language so as to be heard, unfortunately that rarely happens because at that point they merely see you as a threat and a challenge and they will try to rise higher than you in a quest to defeat ur cause and guess what, u will start acquiring the symptoms of a Hot Head urself as you try to be heard and reason with them, problem is that you wont be aware of this as it happens. And the next thing BS will write a blog and u will disagree with her and instead of a civil approach you will showcase and exhibit the fullblown desease u've sadly contracted as a Hot Head.
Leave them to the professionals.

I have promsed myself never to post anything on that blog, coz even if u just say "hi/lol/sigh" etc, some of those people will skin u alive for no apparent reason, something needs to be done about the offenders.. and bayathukana labantwana man tjeeeer, um just glad they stay there, although this DW person has escaped, shim needs to go period. Vele vele where's the perition to kick shim's vulgar behind out of here???

True that Nonny, I personally know that I'm not talking about all the bloggers on Gen forum!

And the reason why I wrote this article is that I needed to understand how does a Gen article cause people to fight? And as some have explained it really boils down to an individual's personality!
And maybe we are a little angry some of us that we can't visit certain forum on this site. This was meant to be a socializing network like Myname said "not some boxing ring or wrestling ring".

And I still say that Dangerous Woman is not the only one... I joined this site before she did and from the beginning the forum has been like that! I'm not picking on anyone I'm just making a point that we also need to look at ourselves! Are we too guilty too of inciting unneccessary fights? There are jokes and there are fights!

I am aware that this is a very emotional topic. I can see already some of us are becoming defensive! It's not an attack it's a discussion!

I unfortunately do not have the priviledge of visiting TVSA all the time. I don't usually do Generation blog, if I do visit TVSA. However, I witness fights on TVSA all the time. TVSA wrestles most of the time and Gen blog is no different. I mean there are few individuals that can never write anything without using vulgar.

thank gaad someone has brought this up - its particularly disappointing to note that you would have missed Gens the previous nite and you go there "expecting" pple to be on about what had happened, {like b4] and you kinda piece it together - now you have read thru so many useless arguments and stil get nothing unless Maud is kind enuf to recap........tjerrrrrrr asseblief!
