So You Think You're Funny 2 Launched!

It was just the other day when Sfiso Nene was announced the winner of So You Think You're Funny but just 4 months later, Fanta and SABC 1 are already launching the second season. Well, the world is going through a rough time right now so we welcome the news. Besides, laughter never hurt anyone.

Season 2 was launched last week at a cosy and informal hook up at Latinova in Rosebank. The show will still have David Kau, Moshidi Motshekgoa and Ntosh Madlingozi as the judges and I'm hoping there'll be a new host coz I wasn't feeling Thomas Gumede. Hayi kabi.

The show returns to the small screen on Monday, 27 July 2009 at 19:00 for yet another 13 episodes of what I hope will be mad fun and laughter. At least we are sure our screens won't be black next month...phew!

I'm disappointed that there are no auditions for Bloemfontein wena David!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is really supposed to be a pose, I told them it wasn't working so....

Sfiso was like, "Hayi ke, angazi ufunasenzeni". lol.

Sfiso did a few of his jokes and I'm really really bad with remembering jokes but there is one that sort of stuck lol....

I can't remember it word by word so this is a remix... hehe.
He was talking about how he was watching the elections on TV and saw all the politicians go to their former schools to cast their votes.
He said...Trevor Manuel went to the high school he went to, Terror Lekota went to vote at the high school that he used to go to, Hellen Zille went to vote at the high school that she used to go to, Jacob Zuma went to the high school that he wanted to go to.

I was so LMAO!!!!!!

I like Ntosh but I don't think he's a "natural" comedian....

Moshidi on the other hand, is such a sweetheart! Even though she insists on checking how the pics come out, she does it ka botho lol.

Ooh bathong...and then there was Mthawelanga who was called on the stage. It took so long for them to get him a proper microphone, you could have sworn he was gonna do into ebonakalayo!
Anyway, he went up there, sang well but the only problem with his "perfomance" is that it was suppposed to be funny but WASN'T!

When he walked off the stage, David Kau said "You see, that's why he didn't win. This is So You're Think You're Funny, not So You Think You can Sing". Ouch!

Not even posing next to the fabulous Zizo could make Sfiso smile...heheheh.

Ain't she just cute!!!

Eish I had to take another pic of Mthawelanga on my way out...(even though I actually just wanted to take a proper look at his cute friend) apparently he's married to a "doctor"...Hopefully the Dr will be able to diagnose his real talent coz it defs ain't comedy.

So, are you ready for So You Think You're Funny Season 2 or is it coming back too soon?

WTF...the show never cut it for me and found it funny that it was such a joke rather than content having jokes... anyway that zuma joke is fun or maybe I find zuma jokes fun ga ke itse.

Sfiso doesn't do it for me anymore, I went to three of his shows in Durban in the past two months and I was dissapointed that all this performances had the same material. The last show I went to that featured him was the 99% Zulu Comedy at the ICC last week Saturday, he said the same jokes that we all know about Manto, Buthelezi, Taxi Drivers and Maskandi music. I mean when are we getting new stuff from this dude?

Neway, I hope Celeste Ntuli enters this time, she is the best thing that has ever happened to Durban comedy!

Okay I know that cutie there. Very arrogant dude, just thinks that women are there to worship him. He was asking me out the same time hubby was but I guess hubby won my heart.

But who knows the guy maybe has changed, I'm even suprised he posed for that photo.

BS.............Is it ture that So u thnk u funny is coming back for the next season .........Gosh i can't wait phela i really liked this programme.

As fro Moshidi I also think he's not that as gud to be a comedian en if u can take a look at his advert it's really broing i was expecting something funny abt hm ..........i thnk being a judge suit him the best cozhe tells u straight if u not good.

Brown Shuga, I must disagree with you about Mthawelanga. The dude IS funny. Yes, he has a brand of comedy that not many will get or like, but check out his group and videos on "Straight Up, Stand Up with Tats Nkonzo". This dude is not listening. Ntosh had to lay ground rules before the audition and explained to him that vulgar / profanity will not be tolerated. He goes on to make a joke about Mshoza having plastic boobs and plastic ass. Ntosh reprimanded him on the spot, reminding him that he can't use vulgar language. This guys turns around and says "but plastic is not vulgar"

but nna FK i did not get that rule...perhaps for prime time television reasons....but i am yet to hear one comedian who has made it who doesnt swear in their acts...from David kau to Chris Rok..to Rusell Peters (whom i was hoping wouldnt curse in his acts)

So when he said that i was like...uh...thats what you guys do??....and i am not surprised that the poor boy didnt know what to say..he probably had vulgar jokes only.....I hate such jokes...but i understand why the poor boy got stuck.
Their disclaimer (the very impropmtu one), they absolutely do not practice it. but it was appreciated for primie time viewing. I hope that kids havent watched David Kau's "I did this jokes first" DVD......
