Sorry TKSM, get your instructor to get a date for you. If you can't pay him, wait for a email after 6 months to tell you that your date is in November 2011.

Am i the only one in this boat?????????

The GPG contact centre is really trying....the DLTCs are the ones delaying, they don't send the list of available dates in time to the contact centre and also we the public are to blame coz if you manage to get a date and are unable to confirm the booking you don't even have the courtersy to call and cancell so your time could be allocated to someone else.

How can I help shut the consultants up by providing you with a Website to book online? With so many jobless people that won't be a wise decision...the government come up with such initiatives so to create jobs, where do you think the President's 500 000 jobs are gonna come from???

No you're not TKSM.

the best option is to call everyday until they give you a date. They will sometimes tell you when they are getting new dates. This helps because you know when you have to call back.

But just pay your driving instructor R200 to get a date for you

Okay...Spoke'sperson.....i mean Mathaz......please don't chew me...just understand that it is a reall frustration to the public.  There are a lot of ways that this could be resolved.
For one, the GPG CC set peak times when people can call in......first come first serve basis...so that we atleast know when and when not to call.

call around 7 but before 7:30 and call after 17:00 those are the times you are likely to get a date.
this is what my former instructor said, and it worked for him

TKSM
11 Aug 2009 09:42

@blueroze...i will give it a try...if it don't work...then i will put the blame on you and your instructor!!!!!!!!!!!!:-)

Am i the only one in this boat?????????
you are not alone my dear; i have been trying since mid July; last week when I finally got it I felt like I have won the lotto;
I only found out the following day when I was trying to confirm my last confirmation date that the moron who was assisting me; had actually booked me for code08 instead of 10. I was pissed off.

TKSM

TKSM if you call form a telkom phone it's really cheaper.  Love relax.......... Go to Mpumalanga e Kriel, mina I was helped with a BIG smile and I told them that my learners is about to expire so they gave me the closest date. i did not pay anyone a cent........ Well I got bumped today on my way to work. I'm not thinking straight.

The agents do get incentives that is why they are this polite; and always asking all those questions. I have never waited for them to ask all those Qs;
as soon as I hear there are no dates available statement, i quickly thank the caller and put the phone down.

I've never a problem with the booking system for a learners, I've made bookings for my brothers and my friends in teh pst 9 months and I always receive well an acceptable service (thsi is SA -- my lucky stars)...if you want to book for learners license ask them to give you a date for a testing station in Auckland Park, they even do test in the evening as well as weekend... Drivers's license biiking is always a pain :) :)

i used to work at that call centre. 4 months is all it took before i quit. i have trouble playing nice esp if the environment makes it impossible for you to deliver good service to already pissed off clients.

Cande
11 Aug 2009 15:20

LMAO, eish SARS.. Have you even been on number 1 on the queue for 20 minutes?? If not then you dont know SARS yet

felfel
11 Aug 2009 15:29

LOL Maud & Sbu001 eventually i got through, and was told my assesment will take up to 90 days even though i did it online, and yet they say online is the quickest way to get results, nxa, all becos some creep told me to resubmit a 2nd version.

But i must honestly say i like the white (or non-black) sars consults, they're very thorough in explaining things, i've had an issue with sars for 4 years now and i could never get a good explaination from the darkies all along even when they spoke isiXhosa, but that whitie gave me 20mins of his time and i was clear, even the one today explained why my assesment is gonna take so long and apologised for the long wait.

felfel
11 Aug 2009 15:32

hahahaha, Cande, the voice prompt kept saying, "you are no. 21"  X5, i wanted to hang up but thought i've come too far from 41, lol

TKSM
11 Aug 2009 15:36

I have been holding now for the past 30 minutes....and still going strong.....as my call is very important to them...i should continue holding, my call will be connected to an available agent soon. ja......... ne.......!!!!

felfel
11 Aug 2009 15:47

TKSM are u not able to make a call without picking up the handset and only pick it up when u hear a consultant answer, u can even punch in numbers without picking it up. i did that mna, much better than holding it for all that 30mins.

TKSM
11 Aug 2009 16:06

I dont know felfel....something just keeps on pushing to dial the number......i want to stop but this GPG CC ine wozawoza you know!!!!!!!! i can't explain it...it's like when you call the first time and it does'nt go that well, you assume the second time will be better...and so on and so on...gosh....how can i ever stop.

Floh
18 Aug 2009 02:38

TKSM.........the dates are sold to instructors or Driving school owners. eg.........if the testing station test 20 ppl a day, 15 will be sold and 5 will be open to the public. If you have time, just go to the testing centre you will see how crazy it is.

Also try Carletonville, you will get a date easily there.
