Coming up on
All Access tonight (20 August 2009):
Josie Borain left South Africa in the 1980s to pursue a modeling career in the US. Before long, she was the first to usher in the era of the Supermodel, with a seven-figure sum to represent Calvin Klein's Obsession range.
She became Klein’s muse, her gorgeous looks and lean body offering an intriguing contrast with the over-the-top ‘glamour’ of the time.
Cut to today, and the model-turned-homemaker is a successful photographer, married and the mother of three.
Mark Bayly goes on set with Josie at the Twelve Apostles Hotel in Cape Town as she prepared to take pictures of her husband, actor
Langley Kirkwood (who's currently on tellie in the role of Charles Johnson in
Montana.)
Also in the line-up:
- Brumilda van Rensburg, best-known for her role as Louwna on Egoli, has been performing since long before her role on the soapie. To recognize her achievements in the local entertainment industry, Jason Greer went along to her induction in the Walk Of Fame’ at Foxwood House in Johannesburg to find out what makes her tick.
- Lira was recently named Glamour’s 2009 Woman of the Year. Bridget Masinga catches up with her at her recording studio to talk ‘soul’.
- Koula meets up with South African actress Mary-Anne Barlow on location of her latest international project, “Wild At Heart” - a production for the Hallmark Channel.
- Carrol Boyes’s name is renowned around the country for the beautiful crockery, cutlery and objects d’art produced in her stores. Mark finds out more about her with a visit to her office in Cape Town.
- She’s been labeled Nelson Mandela’s secretary, butler, aide-de-camp, spokesperson, travelling companion, confidante and - as she put it, and he agrees - honorary granddaughter. Zelda le Grange talks about the man that is Madiba and some of her interesting encounters.
All Access is on M-Net on Thursdays at 19h30.
