Coming up on
Zola 7 tonight (20 August, 2009):
Nomsa Kunene is a 27-year old woman from Hammanskraal who has a condition called dwarfism - a term which refers to someone of short stature.
Today Nomsa is uneducated and unemployed because she dropped out of school. She dropped out because she was constantly teased and bullied by other children because of her height.
Since dropping out of school she spends most of her time at home and doesn't socialize at all. Gail, Nomsa's younger sister is concerned that Nomsa is depressed and has a low self esteem because of her short stature.
Over the course of the showy, Zola attempts to make Nomsa aware that her short stature is not a disability; therefore, she has to accept and embrace herself.
The journey Zola and Nomsa embark on exposes Nomsa to people who are living positive and active lifestyles despite being physical challenged. Nomsa hooks up with and they show her that being different to other people doesn't mean that you should not have ambitions and not love yourself.
The eighth season of Zola 7 is on SABC1 on Thursdays at 19h00. This is the seventh episode in the season.
