On Monday (21 September) at 21h00 (CAT) CNN premieres a new show headlined by CNN journo Christianne Amanpour , eponymously titled Amanpour.
Each week Amanpour will be interviewing a range of political leaders, cultural icons and global influencers, to give a deep examination of the major news stories and urgent issues around the world.
The show premieres with an interview with two key players in the Afghanistan situation: Afghan President Hamid Karzai; and US Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Richard Holbrooke.
Both will discuss the issues underlying the powder keg that is Afghanistan: the war, the growing power of the Taliban, the fraud charges surrounding the recent election and the tough road ahead.
