For weeks Athletics South Africa President Leonard Chuene denied that gender tests were done on Caster Semenya, the 800m world champion.

3rd Degree interviews former national team coach, Wilfred Daniels who first revealed that some sex tests did indeed take place in South Africa before Berlin and that ASA were advised not to let Semenya run.

3rd Degree looks at all the events that have unfolded and asks: has an 18-year-old woman been sacrificed in pursuit of a gold medal?

3rd Degree is on e.tv on Tuesdays at 21h30.

Cant wait for this but Chuene should be fired, he is such a liar and he still justifies his lies, what ASA has done to Caster is inexcusable and the GM of ASA should be fired as well. Hope we have all learned a lesson that not everything is about race.

What a disastrous interview!eTV's Tumalo Mohlaodi was so embarrassed by the stupidity of this man.doubt he wrote anything down his face was "like Nigga stop it now!.so Caster was in a way aware that something was wrong but her management failed to explain the results in a way that would make sense to her.damn!that ex coach left no stone unturned exposing alles.he must 4get bout being ever hired on comrademanship.

I just watched the show on Tuesday the 22rd. What Mr Chuene was saying doesn't make sense. He knew from the onset that tests were done on poor Caster and did not take the medical report as a serious matter. For him not to tell Caster what the test were for before they leave for the competitions was uncalled for. Evedence was show by the dedicated and hard working Debra and he denied it. For him to apologise and tell lies again does not show any remorce at all. Heads will roll and He must encounter for everything.

He is the one who ordered for those tests to be done. When the Doctor advises him to withdraw Caster he all of sudden wants it on paper.

He publicly denied the whole thing. Saying he didnt know who ordered caster to go for tests. Then he said teh doctor didnt say anything to him then.

all of a sudden he lied to protect Caster. From what exactly? He said he didnt get any communication from the iaaf questioning caster's gender. Until Debra said what about the email she has in her hand.

He has never stopped lying this stupid man.

he should be shot straight in the head for being so selfish.

Apparently Caster was told that she will be going for Doping tests then then when she got there they took pictures of her private parts.

Its a digrace to see how we South Africans humiliate one another. The girl and her family is humiliated and belittled by our media and ASA. Wher on earth did you heard of a new born girl be examined to find out whether she is a girl or a boy? Are we above God? D o doctors know how to create a human being? They are ones to help Mrs Semenya to give birth to the same lovely girl and confirmed about her gender, secondly in most cases these doctors guess when examining a person, they also do mistakes. Please lets stop destroying the poor girl and her family, if you want to know or ask questions let the questions be directed to God the creater.

i watched the show too and this time Debra kept her bra on and did not rant like a cow...the team did good with the investigation...loved it, mara shem poor Caster - i can only emagine what is going through her head...

What infuriated me was when he said the media must show him someone that hasnt lied to protect someone.

Hoe the *bleep!* can you say that? how did he protect her? by exposing her to the world? How does that man look at his kids in the face and explain to them his actions. What if it was child that was so humiliated? would he be as forgiving as he wants SA to be?

Its either Chuene gets fired or whatever Caster is humiliated period, and it will live with her till kingdom come. Stop boiling over something you will never have control of. I would like to know which category does Caster belong cause if is a lesbian then she is a woman iregardless of whether she has man hormones
Her birth documents indicate that is a she thats from the hospital so why do you make it difficult for her

It seems as if lesbians and gays have no place in the world thats Semenya was treated. I think now is the time to tell the gays and the lesbian how you feel about ,they must know that they dont have a place in sports,and in parliament,but you should that they were created by God

For Leornad i can not blame him cause him Caster is a girl and i support him,that was just politics. If the IAA suspected she was what ever they should have done the test b4 the race now that she leading kilos away from other atheletes they started complaining,so that is why Leornad did not bother to tell them about test he knew that Caster is a girl

Her sexual orientation is not at question here, I think you are confusing the issues, there is gender and there is sexual orientation. According to media reports, she is a hermaphrodite, not a lesbian. As for you supporting Chuene, I am astounded, this humiliation would never have happened if he just pulled Caster out of the race. No matter how you look at it, Chuene is to blame for this whole debacle. From your statements it seems as if someone didn't watch 3rd Degree last nite.
Team SA's doctor apparently told him that the results are in and he told him that it doesn't look good for Caster, Chuene decided to pull her from the race but later decided otherwise (after he spoke to an unknown politician). He only wanted a medal, and he got it but at what price?

Chuene is to blame becuase the Iaaf contacted them (ASA) questioning her gender. He had the advice of a medical specialist to withdraw Caster he chose not to. So he is to be fully blamed for this thing.

The IAAF are only to blame for not having done tests themselves before the race. But then again ASA said they did the tests and nothing was wrong. Again ASA comes into the picture. Chuene more especially.

YHO HAY MZANTSI, it 's 100 000% unfair.NO ONE HAS ANY RIGHT TO TO TELL CASTER WHAT TO DO. AND OTHER THAN THAT NO ONE WOULD HAVE GIVEN CASTOR THAT GOLD SHE GOT BY HERSELF.

i remember very clearly when this started and i wrote mo tvsa

- Pretoria University is a very well respected varsity with the best training facilities in SA and i wrote that there was no way someone wont be interested in testing CASTER because Chuene was denying that no tests were performed.

I hope Caster is getting counselling for all this
its a pity how the world is looking at us no......
