Psalm 100:4-5 – "Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts  with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures for ever; his faithfulness continues through all generations."

Today bafethu I don’t have an article to upload therefore, I just woke up with thanksgiving in my heart and I thought why not give thanks today huh?

err, Don’t expect anything huge because I just scribbled something quickly, where I made grammar mistakes and spelling mistakes, and if the article doesnt flow, forgive me good people
.

As the year is about to end, I took time to look back at how this year started and I can’t help but be thankful. Even if things are not yet perfect, today, I just want to give thanks to the almighty, and just thank him for everything that is right and everything that is not yet right.

I wrote down things I have accomplished, and things that I haven’t accomplished yet, and I just realised that, all those things that I’ve achieved, are the most important things in life, they had to be achieved first before anything else. I think to myself, if those are accomplished, how can I not achieve the rest? I realised that, all things achieved was not because of my works, nor my strength, nor my power, but it is by the grace and spirit of God.

To those that feel that their heart desires have not been fulfilled, to those that feel frustrated, to those who believe that their prayers are not being heard, I say to you, don’t loose hope God has heard your cries, keep your eyes fixed on the cross and keep on running the race until his promises come to pass. He also says, in Joel 2:25 I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. His promises are true and therefore I speak restoration to your life, because when God restores, he will give you four times, others seven times the things that you have lost. I always go to the book of 2 kings 4 and read the story of the shunammite woman and Elisha, great story…it really gives me hope and I thank God for it.

To those who have lost parents God is saying to you in John 14:18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. To those who have lost loved ones and are crushed in spirit God says in Psalm 34:18The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. And I thank God for these words.

On a serious note guys, this home cell has been my hiding place, filled with words that nourished my soul (and I believe it has been for others as well) it really helped me grow spiritually, it comforted me, if it was not for it, I really don’t know where I would be. I thank each and every person that has contributed articles, every person that has shed their knowledge, and everyone that has responded. I must admit that I took it lightly and did not comprehend what it will do for me! So, thank you good people in Christ.

Today.........

♦Let’s take this opportunity to focus on things that have manifested and even those that have not yet manifested and thank God for them.

♦Let’s take this moment to encourage those who are crushed in spirit and give them food for their soul.

♦Let’s take this moment to look back at where we come from and be
  thankful.

♦Let’s take this moment to thank people who have been an inspiration to us
 throughout this year.

♦Let’s take this time to quote verses that have kept us going night and day,
thank God and bless others with them.

♦Let’s take this time to confess what we have learned this year and thank
 God for it.

♦Lets take this time and suggest songs of worship to our fellow brothers
 and sisters and bless them!

♦Let’s take this time to shumayela and go crazy in God! We are allowed!

Whatever you want to say bazalwane is welcome!! this is an off topic in Christ blog, so you are allowed to go off topic because vele this article does not flow lol!

We are now 8 months and 9 days pregnant in the word guys and I believe we have a lot to say. Phela I believe that we are about to give birth to something big and wonderful soon…..be blessed!

Revelation 11:17 – "We give thanks to you, Lord God almighty, the One who is and who was, because you have taken your great power and have begun to reign."

1 Thessalonians 5:18 give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

Thank you MaCodzz

Psalm 34:18 The Lord is near to the broken hearted and saves the crushed in spirit Many are the afflictions of the righteous; but the Lord delivers him out of them all. He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken.

You know Cody, just last week, i decided to go through my Journal where that i carry to church, cell groups or any church meeting, that was my 2007 one for some reason, i re-read the comments that i wrote in there and i find this scripture and i wept reading what i wrote about it because i was going through a very very trying and rough time in my life.... It has been happenning for far too long, and i believe im the one who has prolonged the prosess, my heart was so heavy because of the situations, instead of focusing on what i know about my God, i based my focus mostly on my analysis about the situations and my findings were sinking my heart deeply in hurt ... that at one point i couldnt real realize where i was heading to. But that verse lead me to this one

Romans 5.3: We rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit which has been given to us

i prayed to God and in my prayer i didnt focus on the problem i focused on How Great God is, my prayer was full of praise and thanks-giving, i told Him hore im gonna reejoice in my suffering because of His love in me, i recalled Philippians 1.6: He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion. ...  i knew that, He is the one who began that journey for me and He will never leave me in wilderness

and i decided to follow 1Thessalonians 5:16-18
"Be happy [in your faith] and rejoice and be glad-hearted continually (always); Be unceasing in prayer [praying perseveringly]; Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Mediator of that will].
"

And on Sat late, something very drastically happened, it changed the whole situation i was in... and deep down i believed that changing my prayer from concentration on what is happening to me and focus on God never-ending Mercy was the reason for that change. Sometimes God real puts us in situations where we wont have any other options but Him to take us out of it ... Im so Thankful to Him

Wow, Thanks Cody.

This year wasn't a good year for me, in February I lost my grandmom, in May i lost my Aunt, in July I was hijacked and left with nothing and on Monday i lost my other Aunt. but in all these God has been very good to me, he's the one who kept me going, he saved me from those horrible and heartless hijackers, if it wasn't for him i wouldn't be here today because one of the hijackers try to shoot but there was something wrong with the gun untill the other one force him not to shoot. I am hoping and praying for a very good 2010, and i know God will still be with us through thick and thin as always.

Yes he is a Wonderful God. I thank him for everything he has done for me, for my beautiful and happy family, my cute little unborn child, my good man, my wonderful job  and most of all my good and 4giving HEART and KINDNESS. he's an amazing God.

To my aunti who passed away on Monday. God says u have done your duties in this world its about time that he takes u home, home where there will be no sickness or hunger. yes we r heart broken that we won't see u anymore, but deep down our heart we know that u'll always be with us. the person that we will be bearing on Saturday will be the body only but your soul is already with God now. Rest In Peace, we will always love u!

Tholi - I am sorry to hear about all that has befallen you and your family.  One thing that you need to remember that all the bad things do not come from God.  He is a loving God.  His heart, is touched with our grief.  He loves us too much fo see us cry.

Run to Him, let Him cover you with His hand.  Tell Him all your sorrows, telll Him all your troubles.

Best and Inspiring article for the lifetime as we always come closer to God only when in need/trouble and never bother to go back to say Thank You.

For giving me eyes that can see, ears that can hear, mouth that can talk, legs that can walk etc, I really don't know how to thank Him, why me of all the people? I know of millions of people who are better Believers than I am but they are blind, deaf, mute etc.

The shortest distance between God and man is through knees to the ground but I always don't know what to say as He even knows what I'm thinking even better He knew me before I was even born.

For the first time in a while I am reminded and given an opportunity to say Thank God.

I would like to ask the Choir to sing for us
If It Had,Not, Been For The Lord,

♫If It Had,Not, Been For The Lord, On My Side
Where Would I Be?, Where Would I Be?
If It Had Not Been For The Lord On My Side
Where Would I Be? Where Would I Be?

[Verse 1:]
He Kept My Enemies Away
He Let The Sun Shine Though A Cloudy Day
Oh, He Wrapped Me In The Cradle Of His Arms
When He Knew I' Been Battered And Torn,
So...

[Chorus]

[Verse 2:]
He Never Left Me All Alone
He Gave Me Peace And Joy I've Never Known
He Answered When I Knelt To Him In Prayer
And In Victory The Lord Brought Me This Way,
So... ♫

I thank God that Today I know that.......

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that the might have it more abundantly.

Jesus has said that He came so that we can have life and have it more abundantly. Not just abundantly, but more abundantly. He wants me to know that if a thief steals from me, Jesus has come to restore. Note Jesus is not coming, He has already come. A thief will come and go, come and go, come and go. A thief does not come to steal by staying at my home. He will come to steal and then go away. In contrast, however, Jesus has come so that we may have life....halleluya!

and now i know I am aware that>>>>>>

Satan is a created being and not a creator and is therefore unable to create anything. He can only use what's already there and pervert and distort it. In other words, the devil cannot make you sick! people let's get this fact straight in our minds once and for all. People are forever saying the devil has made me sick. The devil cannot give you anything. He is a thief who is only able to steal your health and then you become sick! He is unable to create sickness, but he can steal your health if you let him. He can steal one's finances and cause poverty. He can steal one's peace and then one is troubled. He can steal one's joy and then one is depressed.

Understand this clearly, the devil can only steal from you ] he cannot create something in you or give something to you.

Greetings Bazalwane,

Good to see a Christian blog, anyway I have missed blogging.
When I read this blog and the replies, I cried because all along I thought I was the only one going through hard times, at a certain time in my life I felt God had turned his back on me.
No matter how many times I prayed for deliverance the answers just didn't come.
One thing I could never do is forsake God, cos where who else can help except for him. But I know that the things the I went through this year were a character, faith and perseverance building phase.I am much stronger because of these trials and tribulations.
Thank u Cody for the blog stay blessed!

Thank you Lord, for the supportive family and friends, the year was not smooth but Your Word kept me going

The Word that kept me going is in Jeremiah 29: 11 - For I (GOD) know the plans I for, plan to prosper you and to give bright hope........ Thank You that you taught me not to fight anymore because the battle is not mine but Yours.

I've got so much to be thankful for, all in all is Thank You Lord for everything

I say yes Lord YES

I just want to say thank you to my Lord God for giving me everything in life that I ever desire. I feel special even though my life is not perfect.

Right now my family is going through a difficult time (financially and emotionally) Lord God I know that you will see us through and we will still love each other even after. Keep us strong......................... I know we will make it if we hold each other's hands and climb the mountain.

When this year started I told myself that I was going to buy a car for my 24th birthday. I didn't have a licence, no job and not even a learners.

In May I went for my licence and in July I got a permanent job, and just 2 weeks ago I fetched my car from the dealership  and next week is my birthday  so I reached my goal. I know that he gave the strength and encouragement that I WILL do it. Thank you Lord God..........................

This year has also been the most hardest for me, my husband lost his job and i officially became the sole bread winner. My uncle, brother and cousin all passed away in a space of two months plus my only remaining brother is not well. The expenses are piling up, my head spins every month end.

Just a moment ago i was sending an email to a friend telling them that i think God has forgotten about me.

Its hard yet i know eventually God will provide.

Thank you Jesus.

Oh yes!! Le a mblesa bazalwane!

I also want to thank God because last weekend after so many years I went to Church! It felt so good and so right... I was not aware how much I need Him in my life until on Sunday. I didn't know most of the songs but it felt so right! My Dad was so proud of me when he saw me dressed like a real lady and going to church! Just imagine how my Greatest Father must have felt? The welcome was incridible they made me sit in front next to the Preachers! This humbled me as I always had this perception that bazalwane especially bomme are very judgemental. They proved me wrong. I felt God's joy and love. I felt like i belong there!

Nonzuzo rella le wena ngwaneso, but just know that nothing is impossible with God your brother will be healed..let us pray for your brother

Heavenly Father, You are intimately aware of the struggle Nonzuzo brother is experiencing -- the pain and the despair. You know the desire of his heart to be healed of this illness. I ask now for Your healing touch. I know that You are able and You can heal him. We command sickness out of his body, in the powerful name of Jesus!

help him understand that You will chose what is best for him. I pray that through this trial, he will draw close to You -- that You will be his comfort and strength. I pray that ultimately, whatever happens, You will be glorified through him. I pray this in Jesus’ name, amen.”

Thank you Cody for this - great blog indeed guys

I'm crying and my heart is filled with so much joy for the Lord...and i think am crying a happy cry.....

"I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I'm calling,
Lord, you catch me when I'm falling,
And you've told me who I am"

I don't know where to start in thanking you Lord....sometimes i feel like i don't deserve to be loved by you - there's a part in the song that says "who am i that the eye that see my sin would look on my with love and watch me rise again"

Thank you Lord for  taking my sin & shame, thank you for this life, thank you for continuing teaching me to do your will and for being such a patient God with me, even when i don't do your will Lord you never forsake me.....instant you continue setting me free, shinning your light for me, showing me new mercies, strengthening my faith in You...O God THANK YOU....

I am going through the most difficult times of my life
I am disappointed in my life, the decision i made about 2 years back
I cant help but condemn myself
I have let myself down

>>>>>>>>>>>>>> <<<<<<<<<<<<<<
But through it all
I have learnt to trust in Jesus
and I learnt to depend upon His word

and His word says He will never leave me nor forsake
and it also says even though i walk through the valley of shaddow of death I will not fear for thou art with me

pelo ya me e botlhoko
i dont wanna lie
but with time i will be fine

this sunday i prayed a prayer of forgiveness and chose to forgive and forget the man who had a hold on my life for a very long time but then as I was rejoicing for that, these issues came along

I dont know but I still thank God
>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
thank for loving and setting me  free
thank you for giving your life just for me
yes i thank you
Jesus i thank you
i thank you

>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<

all i have to do is sing

all to Jesus I surrender
all to him I freely give
i will ever trust and love Him
in His presence daily

I surrender all,
I surrender all;
All to Thee, my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.

All to Jesus I surrender;
Humbly at His feet I bow,
Worldly pleasures all forsaken;
Take me, Jesus, take me now.

They are very hard working people and I admire them so much.My aunt lost her job this year and she selling bags dihamper trying to make a living for her self.

In March this year her 16 year old daughter started not sleeping at home during weekends and it just went from bad to worse. Now we don't know where she lives apparently she lives with old man and is pregant.when all of this started my aunt took her to counselling church she never gave up.When I look at her now I can see the toll it's taking on her she losing weight and she is just getting sick.

It's hurts me so much because she was like my litle sister and the pain I feel must be little fraction to what my aunt is goin through.

If anyone knows of a verse that could hit home please let me know I just want to remind her that Modimo o teng for yena.

How did I miss this??

There is just too many things to thank God for. But I have one that stands out the most.

My family and my cousin's family have made peace, our parents are talking again, and there's joy in all our hearts. A lot had happened, and by the Grace of God...I managed to convice my parents to LET GO (Segs....hi hi) of the past and start on a clean slate!

They agreed without hesitation and extended an olive branch to my cousin's family, who in turn welcomed their efforts and all was forgiven. I really felt like crying on the day when it happened and thanked God for his love that brought us all together.

Two days that Jesus stayed away. John11:6

When Jesus heard that Lazarus was sick He deliberately Stayed away for an additional two days. When He left for Bethany He already knew that he was dead. And he goes on to say that He was glad that he was not there to have prevented Him from dying. The Bible says that He loved Lazarus and his sisters and so He obviously would have done everything in His power to please them. But the way that He acted when He heard the news of his sickness is not in keeping with how a loving person would act.
This story is supposed to help us understand the different ways in which God deals with our requests. In this case we are dealing with an apparent non-answer to prayer. What do we do when we pray for things and the answer does not come?
The following are important things to remember about prayer:
• God hears prayer
• The Bible says if He hears prayer then we have the things we ask of him. 1 John 5:15
• The answer to our prayer will be in a way that will glorify God. (In this case by staying away the answer when it came brought glory to God. It would not have been the same had He answered at the time that the sisters had expected.)

Have you asked for things and have not yet received the answer? Rejoice because Christ is Staying away for another two days. He is waiting for that thing to completely die and rot and for people to see that it is dead and to even help you with its burial When the answer comes everyone will know that it is the Lord's doing. If you had given up on the things that you were praying for revive that hope. Remember that when He shows up He says “Show me where the thing is buried.” He is the God who brings life out of death and He will bring life to that dead dream.

Lbg, dont be sorry girl for I said, Let’s take this time to quote verses that have kept us going night and day, thank God and bless others with them. and i said Let’s take this moment to encourage those who are crushed in spirit and give them food for their soul.

Whenever i feel weak, overwhelmed by my situations, when I dont know what to say when i pray, i always go to this verse...(this verse teaches me that God knows that sometimes we will feel weak, especially when we dont see that light at the end of the tunnel but his grace never leaves us)

2 Cor 12:9-10, it says....My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” So, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities for the sake of Christ; for whenever I am weak, then I am strong.”

I am sure your aunt and uncle will be pass through this phase. God has heard their cries and he will answer by fire.

Lbg, I am not the one that remembers verses (I am on a mission to memorise) but continue praying for your aunt, as she needs all the support and hopefully the girl will realise the error of her ways.

Someone once said this to me, we are always so keen to encourage and talk to people, and we miss the opportunity to listen and people at times just need to talk and let it all out. Just visit your aunt, and let her know that you are there, to listen and that will give her strength in knowing that she has the support of the people that cares mostly about her. I pray that God will provide for her and her husband

was just trying to type  what i once read about Unanswered prayer, it was a sermon by Bill Hybels.

The Mystery of unanswered prayer.

“Didn’t Jesus say, ‘Ask and it shall be given, seek and you shall find, knock and the door shall be open?’ Didn’t he say that?”

Yes, Jesus did say that. Then why do some of our prayers go left unanswered? How many times have you heard,  “Sometimes the answer is no answer.”?

Me, too…

Bill has an outline that addresses the various responses God has to our prayers: “No,” “Slow,” “Grow,” or “Let’s go.”

If the request is wrong, God will say, “No.”

Maybe the request is a cop-out on your part, an unwillingness to face a real issue. Maybe the request is destructive in ways you don’t understand. Maybe the request is self-serving. Maybe the request is shortsighted. Maybe the request is too small, and God might have something better in mind, and he’s saying no to this one because he has a better plan. Could be you’ll be thanking Him for saying no down the road as you realize it would not have been the best thing for you.

If the timing is wrong, God will say, “Slow.”

We live in a society that demands instant gratification. Like children, we dislike the words, “Not yet,” as God shakes his head at us. God has reasons for his “Not yets;” we must not insist we know better than he. Among them are such concerns as the possibility of you developing some character, some endurance, some trust, some patience, or some submission, while God is orchestrating the timing of the answer to prayer. As human beings we tend to be much more concerned about comfort and convenience than we are about building character through patiently waiting on and trusting in God’s timing. I think God is a whole lot more concerned about character than he is about instant gratification and personal convenience.

If you are wrong, God will say, “Grow.”

Relational discord will cut us off from close fellowship with God. When we disobey, God says, “Why should I honor your requests when you don’t honor mine?” Ouch… It’s a lot easier to point the finger at God for not answering prayer than it is to look in the mirror and to say, “Maybe I’m the problem.” Put that sin away. It’s the only thing standing in the way. Change your attitude on this or that. Stop that practice. End that pattern. Reconcile that relationship. Soften up in your spirit. Repent; receive forgiveness. Come on, grow, grow. It’s the only thing standing in the way!” And God says, “When you grow, I’ll open up the floodgates of power and blessing and pour myself out to you, but you’ve got to grow.”

When the timing is right, God will say, “Let’s go!”

God wants to move that mountain for us; to change that circumstance; to answer that prayer. You’ll be amazed at how often God will say, “Let’s go!” When everything gets lined up, as it fits into the plans that he has for you and for this world, you’ll be amazed at how often God will say, “Let’s go,” because you matter to him and it’s in his heart to meet your needs and grant your requests. It’s really more a matter of you letting him, you freeing him to do it.

And i agree with him

I felt at peace just after reading the article...ka nnete ke leboha Modimo for wena ngoanyana

This is the Psalm that kept me going -- Psalm 139(along with so many other verses and scriptures)
O LORD, you have searched me
and you know me.

You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.

Before a word is on my tongue
you know it completely, O LORD.
You hem me in—behind and before;
you have laid your hand upon me.

Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.
Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?

If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,

even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.
If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,"

even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you.

For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

haai, ok GA -

@Lbg

2 Corinthians 4: 8

We've been surrounded and battered by troubles, but we're not demoralized; we're not sure what to do, but we know that God knows what to do; we've been spiritually terrorized, but God hasn't left our side; we've been thrown down, but we haven't broken.

dont you give up
cause He understands
his word is true
he will do
just what he says

reading this blog really gives me hope
i was devastated this weekend (even though reading the bible was tought i read romans 5v3, i read it even today when i got to my desk)

but i listened and sang along to I PRESS from joyous 13
and i told myself

i will never give up
i will never give up

i press towards the mark of the high calling
i press
i press
i press

i'll forget all things that are behind me

i love this blog
it really is the best

we thank you for your grace
we thank you for your love
we thank you for the smiles on our faces
we thank for all you've done

I miss you my sisters and brothers in Christ.  Let us come back and motivate one another.  We need this kind of encouragement in our daily lives.
