How did we get to Top 24?

I have not been following American Idol Season 9.  The truth is, as much as I like this show, I just can't keep up with 1000 people trying so hard to impress the judges and win that prize.

So when I heard that we are almost to Top 24, I started taking interest.  So now we have 71 contestants and need to get to 46 before we get to 24.  Why don't we just get to 24?

Anyway, please bear with me, I don't know all of them but I promise you, in time (Top 7), I will be able to tell them apart and tell you what makes them stick out.

Im not sure of the dates but the time is 8pm.

It is time where the judges separate them into different 3 rooms.

They walked into room 1 and Ellen is there to give them their verdict. Shem they are so nervous. I don’t think I can put myself through all this. Maybe its because I know I can’t sing.
Anyway, all in Room 1 made it to TOP 46

Simon is there to deliver the news to Room 2. It does not look positive..............bad news, they did not make it. Eish man, they are crying.


It is now 11:pm and these guys are entering room 3
We now enter room3 and Kara & Randy are made to share this spot of delivering the news. Room 3 has made it. 

I don't understand this?  They are given the news at 11pm telling them that they made it to top 46 and the very next day at 7 am - they are already been called to sellect Top 24???  Talk about a quick climax.  Did not last that long.

Ok, it is now 7 am the following day.  Remember I am not good with dates???

Anyway,  Michael Lynche was the first person to secure a place in Top 24 – just had a baby.  And he was in tears.  I like him

Didi Benami – She is the second to get the news. Sorry Tashi – your Didi made it to Top 24. She lost her friend and Snort and Trane.

Katelyn Epperly – 3rd to secure a place in Top 24. Simon was very critical of this girl

Sherryl ???? wearing a black and blue dress. She is the fourth to get the news – Tjo, this girl keeps forgetting the lyrics. Does she have a short concentration span or what? Shem – her lips are kinda like krom.

Casey James – he is the fourth person to enter that room. Apparently Kara is gaga over this guy. He is too Sexy for my liking. He is way over my league. He made it.  I want to see him with short hair, maybe then.

Aaron Kelly – He got 4 yes’s in his first audition but had problem during group performances. He made it. Only 16 years old.  He is the 5th

Lee Dawyz - did not impress the judges at first.  he is one of those who jut went through. He has the voice, mara wa tshoga (lacks confidence).  Made it to TOP 24

Todrick Hall – he is a dancer. Never had a voice training so he is that green. He impressed the judges in his first audition. Happy, got himself a place in the TOP 24.

Jessica Furney - was rejected in Season 8 and she came back.  She rocks as a group singer.  - kwa kwa kwa - Jessica being shot down before even tackling her part.  Tjo Simon.  She must form her own group the DREAM GIRLS and be the backing vocalist.  Sorry - she did not make it.  She must give up now - SHE IS BEGGING THE JUDGES - I HAVE IT, I"VE GOT IN ME.

kwa kwa kwa - Ellen goes like - This is not the end of your carreer.
Jessica : How do you know that, mmmm, just tell me?

Sorry, she did not make Season 9 either.

So they only chose 7 to go through in Hollywood and we are now in California, to choose the remaining 17. 

The first contestant called in is Janell Wheeler = 17 yr old. Auditioned in Florida – First audition, she got 2 votes. Her second perfomance was much better. Group performance was bad and stumbled on her solo. Why did she go through? Sometimes I don't understand these judges.

Tyler Grady – I did not like his first performance but I warmed up to him in Hollywood. He acts gay – he does this funny thing with his hand. Adam - where are you????? He secured number 8 in TOP 24

Tjo, the room they are using to deliver the verdict?  You have to walk all the way to the stage - looks like some theatre.  Nka ithotela on my way there ( I see myself peeing my pants on the way to that stage).  Why do they have to make it so difficult?

Lacey Brown – This is her second time auditioning for American Idol. She made it to top 15 in Season 8. How come I don’t remember her? She made it to Top 24. Will she make it to top 10 this season? We will have to see. I will be watching her carefully. Not that I like her but just to see if there was any improvement, if it was worth it for her to subject herself to this.

Crystal Bowersox – she is the young mom. I like her rendition of You make me feel like a natural woman.  She made it.  Who will look after the baby?  It looks like Papa is present so it won't be that bad.

Katie Stevens – Tjo, she has such a BIG voice. She impressed the judges during Hollywood Week.  Where does she store this voice?  When she talks, you would swear that something squeaky is going to come out.  Some of these people telling us about their family of problems just want sympathy votes.  I mean really now.  Askies gogo.

Ok - they are moving fast now and I can't even update you guys on some of the people who did not make it to TOP 24.

I am particularly touched by Angela Martin – 3rd attempt and she is still not getting it. Blaming personal problems for not making it in the past from losing her dad, dealing with a daughter with seizures and being in jail.  Shem - she needs to find something else like get a day job 9 - 5 and she can sing at pubs / something like a corporate singer

I know, I was feeling worried about her - like how will she cope with it all afterwards? Will she be one of those "how reality TV destroyed my life" stories? Seems like she'll be okay thoough - agree she should take the corporate /pub singer route.

Lilly Scott – She looks a bit old. She is a jazzy person. Her outfits remind me of that Rock gal in Season 8 (I think she went all the way to top 8?) Maybe is that grey wig she has on. Not moved at all, I don’t her kind of jazz. Anywhoooo, she made it.

The following also made it to TOP 24 - no interviews - maybe nothing to write home about.

Haeley Vaughn – I like her, she has a beautiful voice and good with her guitar. In fact, I am going to enter her on FOA. Her dentures remind me of that 9ija girl in BBA – what’s her name again? The one who never washed her hair during her stay in the house? 
Tjo, Simon saying that there are other times where she annoys them. Simon le yena mara???? 

Torry Kelly????? Only 2 places left for the gals in Top 24 and unfortunately Haeley took that spot

Ashley Rodriguez – Ellen has a crush on her. She has style and confidence oozing..  I thought as much.  She made it to Top 24.  She must thank Ellen for that.

It unfortunate that he was paired against Andy - He is better than most of the guys who got places to TOP 24.  I am sad for him.  Shem, A big man crying.  I so wish he can get a call back..  Shem, and her mom? was dressed like an Idols Mom, shem, buy why black big mothers like wearing tight clothes?  Don't they watch Chris Rock's comedy?  It might be comedy but he is trying to tell them sumfin.

Andy Garcia MADE IT.  From the little I have heard, he has secured a place in my TOP 10

@FK: Well, Ellen is married. I'm not.  Yes, I am going all lesbo this season. I was gay last season...
 The men are simply not hot enough.  Ashley is the hottest gorgeous thing on the show this season!
You know mos I don't watch the show for the singing thing,... highly overrated.
