Another one bites the dust...

Jub Jub protester killed by truck

A Grade 10 pupil was hit and killed by a truck while on his way to protest outside the Protea Magistrate's Court, the Gauteng education department (GDE) said on Thursday.

GDE spokesman Charles Phahlane said the accident happened on Wednesday morning.

"They had just left Thutolore Secondary when this incident occurred. It is alleged this happened when these learners were on their way to Protea Magistrate's Court," he told Sapa.

"The police are still investigating but it is believed that he was climbing onto the truck and then slipped and fell. The child was run over by the truck outside the school premises."

The boy was a student at Anchor high school in Meadowlands.

Phahlane said officials from the department had visited his family to convey their condolences.

The department was "aware of the situation of some learners supporting their fellow learners outside court and we are addressing it", he said.

Student protests turned violent outside the court on Wednesday as children vented their anger against hip-hop artist Molemo "Jub Jub" Maarohanye, and Themba Tshabalala.

They face murder charges after four school pupils were killed and two critically injured when the two crashed the Mini Coopers they were allegedly racing in Soweto, Johannesburg, on March 8. - Sapa

I don't know how true this is but it seems like even if he is behind bars still more school kids are dying... Takes a second to stuff up your life doesn't it?

I think this J-J guy and J-Z have a lot in common.

*sigh*... he is a flight risk. Momma gonna use them Oprah milions to get him to Belarus... I just can't find any form of sympathy for the students on the rampage... Couldn't they just go back to sachool and worry about their future? Is it worth it to go go be a jubjub cellmate because you were angry?

Where are the parents? where is the ANCYL? I have a funny feeling the Cosas guy feels like he is the next Malema... so Juju speak up and get those kids back to school and you might get some respect from those that love to hate you

@ Segololo....how is Jub Jub a flight risk?  *sigh* I know you admire Oprah very very much....but this is getting tired hle?

I just read front page on The Star newspaper....it's really sad! And Jub Jub says the reason for his Survivor exit was just a publicity stunt.

Vesa: I unfortunately do not feel sorry for him at all...

My take is children often mimic their parents when it comes to judging wrong from right... I really don't think mama jackey has the moral fiber to ensure her son takes responsibility for his actions as she fails to do the same with her mess.. She still has the money stashed and can ensure her son disappears... Yah, I wont let the Oprah thing go, even if its tired or boring.. I will always bring it up, so I unfortunately will advise you to just read my comments (if you want to) on the Jub jub matter, roll your eyes and swear at me... *blowing kisses*  lol! sorry, dear...

I agree with you Vesa on the Ophra part.

flight risk ..... Yes he can be flight risk because he has a passport and a visa, so he can escape the country to somewhere else...

What i dont understand about Jub Jub though is ...

What is his reason of lying and saying (or is it denying ..sp ) he wasnt under the influence of alcohol, he didt use any substance and he wasnt drag-racing, when there is evedince from the test that were taken from his urine?

And bathong why would he say he wanna go back to his family and unborn child when he has told us the he never had sex without a condom and that Kelly's baby isnt his?   aowa bathong, now that he wants bail, it is his baby?

and i dont believe that publicity stunt line for leaving survivor, all i know is currently he is doing everything that he thinks it can get him off the hook.

Those kids are soooooooooo irritating the hell outa me. and they make most of SA peeps feel sorry for Jub Jub instead of being angry with him.

If its that important to them to be there, they should choose maybe 2learners each school to be outside the coart with posters like promoting peace and anger at the same time. like "Please don't give them bail, we are sick and tired of Celebs getting away with everything"  not what they doing now!

BigMama
19 Mar 2010 10:40

when JJ was racing those kids were cheering, wishing to be in those mini coopers, unfortunately things turned out differently. Its not like JJ is the only celeb taking drugs, there are so many and they are lucky enough not to get involved in accidents.

Everybody makes mistakes and you all deserve a second chance, drugs or no drugs, l believe he must get bail.

Those kids should be writting exams but they are busy toyitoying over something that has nothing to do with them... they are just taking advantage of the situation that is why they wanted to loot stores.

He is a human being as well, overal poor JJ did not plan the murder, it just happened, l just wish could stop pointing fingures and look at their own mistakes. It was a careless and stupid accident that left 4dead, but it was not part of the plan killing...

and you know this how..did u see them...was it in the tabloids???

i will never be angry with Jub Jub, because l know that l am always with people who drink and drive, not that they want to kill people but because we will be having fun

...and your friends willingly drive whilst under the influence of alchohol knowing for a fact that it is wrong and knowing the dire consequences it might have on them if caught , so its a gamble which they take mos all in the name of "fun" knowing that it may either result in:
-Getting caught by the cops and facing a possible fine or prison term
-Causing an accident which may result in death for you or someone else, also with a chance of them getting a prison term
-Or getting home safe ke(which is what most people hope to achieve)...
but they must be ready to face whatever outcome ke, same with Jubee and his friend.....

those boys took  drugs and drag raced knowing the consequences but blatently chose to ignore them...all coz of so called fun...just coz things didnt turn out the way they had anticipated and now they wana be sorry and claim its a mistake?.........bullocks!

Well said Pooky.

Btw, This court hearing is not about whether these two are guilty or not. It is about a bail application and therefore the judge decides on the facts available to him and not on emotions. Personally I have no problem with them getting bail but if they are found not to be guilty on all charges then I have a problem with our prosecuting authorities.

You can come and shoot me if you want, but l still believe he did not intend to kill those kids.

As you pray for the death of my kids, l will be praying for you as well...nxaaaa

@Pooky.....Yes thus true Pooky, all lam saying is that people must stop making noise about Jub being a murderer when themselves are making mistakes, no one is perfect in this world, and some have done worse intentional.

KeleFabulous
19 Mar 2010 12:08

In life all your choices have consequences. You just have to pray evertime gore you're making the right one. And because there are no guarantees that you've made the right one that's why government came up with "laws" as some choices affect the safety and well being not only of yourself but of other people as well. As much as one might get behind the wheel while feeling a bit tipsy, you do that KNOWING it's against the law and HOPING the choice you're making is the right one for YOU mara once you get caught you will face up to the music because what you did was unlawful.
Jubee's case should have nothing to do wtih intent (to kill those kids) and everything to do with the fact that he broke the law. if other people have to suffer the wrath of the law for their actions i don't see why he should be exempt. tough lesson but that is simply life

How many people have driven under the influence? I bet most of the people protesting so strongly against Jub-Jub have done the exact same thing before.

Take the log out of your eye first...

Jub-Jub got drunk, he killed four kids - He's got that to deal with on his conscience for the rest of his life and also deal with the knowledge that no matter what he does he will NEVER erase what he did. If he's really expecting a kid of his own, he will always be reminded of his actions whenever he sees his child. I think that's enough punishment already.

On a lighter note...People really shouldn't feel so let down because who trusts a guy by the name of Jub-Jub?

BigMama
19 Mar 2010 12:16

@KeleFabulous...Thank you. Rules are broken every day, and we have to pray that we don't get caught breaking them, but when we get caught justice must be saved.

When 10people are agreeing on the same thing, l love to disagree with them so that we can keep talking. do you honestly think that l can say *bleep!* happens and that is part of *bleep!* to a woman who has just lost her child.

If l offended any of you just know l didn't mean it. But l meant it when l said we all deserve a second chance in life, and it is a sentence itself to know that 4 people are dead because of you, and l do feel sorry for Jub Jub, he is human too. He made a stupid mistake.

Jub Jub must reap the fruits of his deeds finish.

@Bigmama - hear u gal and u are still welcomed at my place, thing is I did not want to comment on this whole Jub Jub saga since it started but it really peeves me when people are just "thinking" about Jub Jub and not for once trying to be in the family's shoes. The one family the child that died was their one and only son, not saying the child was never gonna die or sumthing but to thing that he died in a manner that was could have been preventable is a really painful to any family or human being.

I for one have nothing against Jub juba and just want the law to take its course and seriously wish people would first look at all the angles before just saying "oohh Jub Jub wa batho". One lady here at work actually said (forgive me 4 the sp mistakes): "batswadi ba banna ba batlo lla (cry) ba thole, nna ke nnaganela Jub Jub fela".....I mean really......lemme just not say anything but do you feel what Im saying?

Lex
19 Mar 2010 14:07

The protesting kids...Lex dont feel sh!t for ya.We are all sad that 4 kids were killed due to the accident and 2 are lying in hospital. The law must and should take its course, but what the school kids are trying to prove is totally beyond my comprehension. Jub & friend, didn't intend to kill those kids/cause an accident, they were having fun which was fuelled by the drugs and alcohol they had consumed. They are feeling guilty, there's no way they cant, the consequences of their actions will stay in their minds for as long as they are alive.Even if they get off scott free,or get punishment which we as the citizens are not happy with, they know that they robbed families and friends of their loved ones.

I'm not gonna say too much regarding this issue on this platform, because I have poured my heart out on other platforms. One thing I know, they did not mean to cause the accident.Too bad it happened.Once again may the souls of those kids rest in peace and may the Almighty send mowa o o boitshepo go sidila dipelo tse di utlwileng botlhoko,o be o phimole dikeledi tse di elelang mo marameng a bana ba gagwe.

19 Mar 2010 15:08

Ok

What happened la?

1st thing

You never wish bad upon anyone no matter how bad that person is or how hurt you feel- It's just wrong adn shows lack of Maturity.

2nd

Surely everyone is allowed to express their views on a certain subject. You dont have to agree with that person but that is no reason to resort to praying for something bad to happen- u mst really think God is stupid and will grant you your wish- Please grow up

3rd
Manners are a good thing to have. If you were not taught that whilst growing up then It's never too late to LEARN. If you dont have anything nice to say then dont say it at all. Those who chose to reserve their comments on this issue are mature and people should learn from them. Rather reserve a comment than insult or intentionally say something hurtful to someone else.

Sho I cant believe people still do this in 2010.

Women are the strongest beings on earth that can cope with whatever pain they encounter in life, but one thing that most women fail to recover from is a loss of a child.

The worst criminals are the ones that have never been in jail but have done horrible things in their lives, some are amongst ourselves.  I'm not gonna play God since I did not create any laws.

A wood may remain 10 years under water but it may never change to a crocodile, it's saddens me to see that some of us have not grown intellectual and emotionally and are still spitting the same bile they were spitting the last time I log on.

The one who accepted the truth.

What happened la?

1st thing

You never wish bad upon anyone no matter how bad that person is or how hurt you feel- It's just wrong adn shows lack of Maturity.

2nd

Surely everyone is allowed to express their views on a certain subject. You dont have to agree with that person but that is no reason to resort to praying for something bad to happen- u mst really think God is stupid and will grant you your wish- Please grow up

like i have said, i am not sure if these kids will continue with this riots until the case has been finalised?? What if it goes on for 2 years?? what then?/ They quit school so that their point can be heard?? They have already their pont last week when the case started but its enough now! They need to go back to school! they are in high school for heaven sake, now they getting arrested unnecesarily and 1 has been killed for no good reason really...

As for Jub Jub & Themba, i know they have angered many, i know they have hurt a lot of families and i know they also regret what happened.
They did not plan this like Bigmama said, i believe it was an honest mistake!

But for heaven sake they are also human beings people, they make mistakes and learn from them like we all do.

They deserve a fair trial because its their democratic right to have a fair trial. So are you guys saying the judge should go with the pressure of the community and unfairly treat this too??

I am not saying they shouldn't be punished for this, i am not saying they should be set free but people need to give them a break.
Do people go on like this when reckless drivers kill their families on the road? or do they allow the law to take its course.. Aggh people just because he is famous doesnt mean he cant make mistakes too.

Allow the two accused a fair trial, and dont expect the justice system to take decisions based on public pressure, otherwise it is not fair on the two accused!!
