I know that the American Idol tide is turning against Andrew Garcia as a hott contender who could make it to the end but
I have say that I don't think all is lost.
Yet.While he hasn't managed to re-create his Paula Abdul masterpiece, his last two performances have been an improvement on all that boring sitting around he did previously.
As I was watching him perform Gimme Shelter on the latest episode and saw how he refused to let rip and let it all hang out I realised that his mega problem lies in that terrible jacket that he always insists on wearing.
It suffocates him physically time and again and yet week after week there it is, buttoned over a long-sleeved, claustrophic shirt that needs to be destroyed too.
What he needs: a simple, short-sleeved T-shirt that sets him free so that he can do what the judges were pushing him to do - be totally free and go wild. Watching, I had this overwhelming urge to grab him and rip it all off so that he'd freak out and do something radical. 500 % wilder. Mix his jazz with some hard core grumble and go out of control mad.
It's such a simple thing yet I'm convinced that a change of clothes would play huge part in achieving this.
He needs to
want to win though too. The sense I'm getting is that he's always so happy to see everyone else get good comments but doesn't feel quite the same about himself. He needs to get fierce. He needs to
ROCK.Can he do it? I'm hoping so, but don't know. If the jacket's back this week, I'm worried that he won't.
