I cringed when the first scene was Beth… yah, the less said, the better. Just one question – what happened to her normal wardrobe? Does she always have to wear those cargo/gym outfit looking clothes? I loved her scene with her father though it may have been a little more believable had it been her mother asking for forgiveness and pledging support. A bit predictable but I feel mothers are often more understanding than fathers. Just my take, I know families are different.
SO Akua had an abortion. Moving along! She then starts looking at rings with her Woods (after the Tiger WOODS scandal this name may be a little eerie for this lovable old man). Poor Woods seemed worried when Akua mentioned that her father has to give her his blessings before they go ahead with any plans for the wedding.
I was worried too considering the parents could be peers or Woods might be older. She calls her father who is elated at her daughter getting married – she mentions to him that Woods is white but forgets to say “He might be the same age as you.” The father insists on following tradition and Woods uncles must send a letter to her family for a meeting to discuss taking her hand in marriage.
As the engaged couple start typing the email to her parents I thought “hai! Technology!? *smh*I wonder if my daughter’s man will sms me for her hand in marriage.” Anywho, Akua types the letter in a plural WE to emphasise that Woods and his uncles are the ones writing the letter. I was ROFLMAO! at Woods saying “My uncles are dead, Akua” yah, neh!
Lo, Lo, Lo… *sigh* *smhsmwoimfo* (shaking my head so much worried it may fall off). Let me take a deep breath before tackling this one. Dineo lived and survived the accident. Craig, Lo’s ex lover covers for her and says “she just got ditracted while driving” Mxcimmm! He should have just said her blood was tested for alcohol and drugs so they are waiting for the results.
She lost custody of Dineo, Thank Gaaad! She then goois her neck brace at her lawyer after he spits the news that she was a hell of a client. When is this woman going to take responsibility for the mess she made of her marriage? SHE alienated her husband, no-one else did. AND Craig was not having the affair by himself – she participated in it? Now she blames him for the divorce from her “happy marriage”? Wasn’t she aware that she was married when she was part of the affair? Mandla was not happy for a long time! Nxa!I just think
Inno must invite her to church. Finish and Klaar!
Inno made my evening with her relentless auditioning. Yah, she killed me! I was beyond laughing out loud… I had stomach cramps from laughing. Yah, noh! Inno is a classic! Mamoloi decides to facilitate her reunion with her friends and also fast-track the end of this season.
The friends finally meet up where the society started – Mamoloi’s house - and share their joys, sorrows and apologies. There’s a blompot at Mamoloi filled with money that Inno saved up to pay her friends – she took responsibility for her actions and behavior by apologizing for her wrong-doing. I don’t believe her friends accepted her aplology considering Mamoloi had to ask them what they want as part of the apology… yah, they just said “No problem” because Mamoloi is now involved, methinks.
Are they gonna meet again? What will Akua ‘s uncles and father’ real reaction be when he meets Woods? Is Lo going to kill someone before someone takes her problem serious? Is Inno gonna get a presenting job? I was offended by her lack of respect for the call center job… hau! It’s a job! It’s better than sitting on your laurels waiting for handouts. Can Beth just go away for some time – I can’t sympathise with her anymore and it breaks my heart because there is so much I think her character can teach homophobes but this storyline has just gone south.
