A 10-part miniseries, based on the true stories of World War II marines follows the intertwined real-life journeys of three U.S. Marines across the canvas of the Pacific Theatre during World War 2.

The marines are: Robert Leckie (played by James Badge Dale), Eugene Sledge (played by Joe Mazzello) and John Basilone ( played by Jon Seda).

The three men and their fellow Marines are followed from their first battle with the Japanese on Guadalcanal, through the rain forests of Cape Gloucester and the strongholds of Peleliu, across the bloody sands of Iwo Jima and through the horror of Okinawa. The series ends shortly after V-J Day.

The series is produced by Stephen Spielberg and Tom Hanks.

If you're into stories about World War then Pacific's def worth a watch. I've seen the first episode - I was a bit iffy about the first bit but then it becomes intriguing, like you can't pull yourself away.

It gives SUCH a strong sense of what it would have been like to be in the war it freaks your brain.

It also pays attention to small things you'd never have considered and it gives insight into the battles. The exact things that happend.
