Please note: this is about the latest episode of American Idol on
M-Net so if you're watching on
M-Net Series it includes spoilers for this weeks show - you may wish to return once the episode's been on. xoxo
So. He's made it. Casey has somehow managed to shove himself into the Top 3 and it's completely inexplicable how or why. Along with Crystal and Lee, he's visiting his hometown this week - his hair glowing in praise and parades which
shouldn't be for him.
I'm not gonna go on about how ludicrous it is except to say that now I'm
very concerned. It seemed impossible that he could win BUT it was also impossible that he's made it to the end - so any madness is feasible. Imagine the size of the joke the season will be if it happens!
No, no, no. Lee
has to win. I know Crystal's excellent but Lee's better. The reason: more girls will vote than guys so rooting for him is an insurance policy against rooting for the wrong voice.
Also, his lopsided smile and hair are both slurpier, which goes a looong way when it comes to such things. Which Crystal agrees with obviously.
I was thrilled (and surprised) to see how crushed on him she is - 'spesh when they flashed shots of that sloppy boyfriend of hers in between, hovering.
She mentioned that she has a musical crush on Lee, which isn't possible: a crush on one aspect of someone is
always a crush on all of them - which she isn't able to openly admit in front of everyone natch.
All she could do to reveal her true feelings was deliver light touches in between her sparkly-eyed smiles to him.
As the judges ruled: each of their duets were a gazillion times better than their solo performances, reflecting their sense of self-doubt once again. Even Big Mike and Casey managed to make their oddball relationship seem convincing in between the bizarre, solo song choices.
For the first time I missed Aaron - if he'd been around he definitely would have done Celine Dion's Titanic. He was always so willing to try the impossible, which none of the final four even vaguely attempted to do. They kept it too safe and none of them
truly performed.
They hide behind their guitars instead of letting rip in the biggest way possible. They also refuse to listen to their mentors.
When Jamie Foxx told them that they need to Let Go, it felt as if he was speaking to a brick wall. It's exactly what they need to do to deliver us an exciting showdown, yet my money's on: they won't. There are only so many times you can mutter on about the same thing without it sticking.
As for what's what this week: the three will each be performing two songs to make the Final 2 - one of their own choice and one selected by the judges. The judges choices have been revealed, they are:
Crystal: Maybe I'm Amazed by Paul McCartney - chosen by Ellen
Lee: Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen- chosen by Simon
Casey: Daughters by John Mayer - chosen by Randy and Kara
idol factsBig Mike's elimination goes to show that when you fear something, it inevitably happens. He wanted to make the Top 3 and was so nervous that it wouldn't happen, it didn't.
It's better for the gym he belongs to that he didn't make it.
If Crystal wins, she
musn't commit to her boyfriend - it would be a huge mistake.
Simon Cowell really is
leaving the show. I was hoping it's a hoax or that he'd change his mind, but neither has materialised.
It's better for musos to be less glam 'cos they age much better: as proven by Bon Jovi. Compare him to Mick Jagger and you'll see what I mean.
