When I saw Tashi's article about a cyber Big Brother for the World cup called Bud House, I was beyond excited and forgot about the actual soccer games and hotties. This is as close as a World biggie, as local fans lovingly call big brother, as we could get... There may never be a world biggie with all the logistics and sponsorship issues but you have to say this show is a fabulous concept (for BIggie fans). How the hell can we watch 32 peeps with different accents and not get confused is beyond me, BUT it will NOT stop us from watching or trying to keep up… The house seems to be in Cape Town but a couple of things have made me not be so certain. Check out the first episode as the fanatics (housemates) arrived at the house The criteria of choosing the fanatics is not clear (from the site); but I hope they searched far and wide in Mzansi before they settled for our rep. The 32 countries that are participating in the World Cup have a fanatic who is apparently absolutely mad about SOCCER. They are grouped into the same groups as the fixtures; as soon as your team is eliminated – the fanatic is also eliminated. I hope this lil rule doesn’t cost the show amazing action and drama if the most exciting and worth watching fanatics are from countries that lack soccer panache. Part of the rules says the viewers can influence who stays or goes. Anyway, the last 2 fanatic standing gets a ticket to the World Cup finals. And the winner will present an official budweiser man of the match award to the player that earns it.

I think ive only ever watched 2 seasons of BB, so i dont know with what spirit im fonna follow this...but i will.I also think that that house is not in CT. But maybe time will prove them honest. plus ive never been to CT.Things i noted that fed my doubt:As they drove through the country site (which we hardly have mo mzanzi...smh) it really looked like the picture i have of Ireland..and its an irish hosted competition isnt it.?...(the shoe fits)Ostrich riding...in CT???..is there such a thing in CT?..genuine question.Worst of, on the welcome party...they had some not so convincing subsaharan group dancing etc, the way americans usually do when they try to be all african. In SA, EC/WC..Why not show case the Xhosa culture...im not believing them so far. But we'll see.
