A British fantasy series based on the Arthurian legends of the mythical wizard Merlin and his relationship with Prince Arthur, differing significantly from traditional versions of the myth.
Merlin’s mother arranges for him to become an apprentice of Magister Caius, the learned court physician of king Uther Pendragon. Gaius teaches Merlin medicine, coaches his magical self-study and warns for Uther's vicious aversion from magic. Merlin then becomes squire to the noble but imprudent crown prince, Arthur, who in this third season is enchanted by the lovely Gwen.
