Everyone else kept their original names and together they met their manager Morgen Ross of G Management who promised to do big things for them when it comes to getting them live tours and gigs.
ExposureWith their final talk-sessions wrapped in the seclusion of their house they stepped into the world to do radio and TV interviews, starting with Iman Rappetti on eNews. As you may or may not know, Iman's a singer too.
Blast to the past: she was a headline act at e.tv's 10th birthday party ...
After eNews, they were interviewed by the breakfast show Sunrise, by the 'tween-hair on Craze and by various radio stations. They didn't go into the HeartFM studios because they didn't travel to Cape Town but rather they spoke to Phat Joe via Lyle's cellphone.
Joe didn't say anything in particular that freaked them out, rather they were affected by his signature scowl. He asked about their name, specifically ... *
in his American accent*: "It's foreign sounding - why?" Suggesting it was a problem that it sounds foreign.
Behind-the scenes they were wide-eyed, trying to handle his otherwise-attitude, but on the phone they laughed, answered his questions with the same vibe as with everyone else, didn't apologise for their choice and went to Durban for their tour.
They arrived with a performance at e.tv's recent roadshow - which impressed Lihle most. She couldn't get over how the audience responded to them in the same way they responded to the casts of Scandal! and Rhythm City.
They also performed at various clubs, at the BAT Cetre - where Lihle performed before entering the show - and at Zinhle's church, which was packed.
Missing Spotted in between:
... who reminded us that she should have been in the group too. Seeing her again reinforced that she should have been a fifth member.
The other thing we kept thinking throughout the episode is that they
really should have released a Christmas single - it would have done brilliantly for them right now, particularly seeings as all four of them are religious. It could have been either an original or a cover. Ideally a medley.
Splashy Do'sAfter their performances, they cooled off with a visit to the dolphins at the Shaka marine place, who have a Nne-Vida of their own. A pack of four dolphins performed, listened to the group singing acapella, kissed each of them and then splashed and dashed Lihle and Zinhle's weaves.
Outraged yet pleased.
With dolphinised Do's the group now head towards the final stint of their making: their first music video. The process they went through to film it will be on next week's finale, which will see the foursome deliver their final reality moments before heading off into the world completely.
Also, coming up in next week's send-off: the latest on the 2011 season of the series.
