... what's the story? Secret sisters?

No-no. Turns out they're long lost distant cousins.

I've been investigating to find out what the deal is and discovered that Bassie is Malesotse's dad's distant cousin. Which sort of makes them cousins, or third cousins. The pair have never met nor ever spoken to each other.

Of course I asked Malesotse whether Bassie's Miss SA success inspired her to enter too - she said: "I respect Basetsana Makgalemele for what she's achieved with her Miss SA status and yes, I think she's a good role model, I however, am doing the pageant for myself. I certainly look up to her but I'm trying to follow my own path to win the title."

@taz,going natural says a lot about you character,most gals with weaves are as fake as their hair,kaone kario was all natural when she won the nokia face of africa so molesotse can still win

Eish I am so furious,angry and sad because the pageants won't be broadcast on SABC.But the organizers have explained that apparently SABC demanded an exhorbitant zaka.....all the best to all ladies.

Oh and I realised that there is a nineteen year old contestant..shouldn't she be entering Miss SA Teen???

I agree wid u Sbah the weaves has faded our natural beauty some ppl are not confidence anymore without weaves and make up that implies we are not real but more artificial

This could jeopardise the girl's chance of being crowned. Or not! But I think the former is much more likely. Remember sis Rebs' daughter on popstars this year? what about Zwai's cousin on the very same show? Well I hope she gets what she deserves.
