SABC and Etv lack of interesting shows

like most of us who reside in SA, we depend on both the SABC and Etv.but both these parties never take a second and consider what people would like to watch.they brought us great tv shows like prison break,WWE,arrested development,how i met your mother and CSi:miami to name a few

but they must pull there socks,cos we understand that they dont have funds/money like DSTv,but the little they have they spend it on hogwash and very retarded shows e.g. the border,the philonthropist etc

rather than investing in those lame shows,they should have invested in shows like fringe,person unknown,human target,scrubs,dollhouse etc and also their cartoons are a joke ,rather invest in cartoons like american dad,south park the boondocks,bleach etc

i mean we're paying the tv licence,year in-year out,so can we can quality please. doesnt anybody known of ways you can suggest shows or even timeslot placement to them?

and these whole racial thing is boring,cos you find SABC 1 is primarily for zulu,xhosa and etc and 2 is for afrikaaners.that must stop,most of those afrikaaner and zulu shows are extremely lame,invest in something new and interesting.if you are planning to reach a wide market,why are you busy with a lot of shows catering only for a specific group?

fringe,person unknown,human target,scrubs,dollhouse etc and also their cartoons are a joke ,rather invest in cartoons like american dad,south park the boondocks,bleach etc...you do realise that the show you mention will have to be broadcast at night when kids and the conservative viewres are asleep...probably wont do much for their "bottomline".
PS:...i like the shows tho...

Truth is, as long as SABC and etv has millions of sassafricans who dont know better tv and arent expecting it, they will have keep airing the nonsense they do and they wont abanon it for the few who want a change...the 50 000 TVSA bloggers.

These good shows that you mention (na di agree they are good)
prison break,WWE,arrested development,how i met your mother and CSi:miami ...you forgot NIP/TUCK. These shows probably had the lowest ratings of all.

eish l agree with you and the way Etv does WWE its too much every day except Friday. Oh and the racial thing so true. Oh and the repeatation of movies on etv is just ridiculous. They have not had new movies since 2004. As for SABC no comment coz l avoid it as much as l can l only watch the ever boring Generation and that it.

I hardly watch anything on SABC except news on SABC3. ETV only watch when they have the 3 hour WWE special and news on the dstv 403 channel since they repeat their news content to the point of being irrelevant.

SABC must also stop with old American shows...the best thing they can do is pump money into local productions not some third rate shows from abroad.

I do not support the notion of buying shows from overseas..we are capable of producing good stuff...colonization must come to an end.

eTV with over broadcast of WWE is really disturbing big time.

@ Green.arrow-i nearly forgot nip/tuck.@ lejazz,we had tons of south african productions shows,bt as ussual most of them are ridiculous.so we cnt alway try to be patriotic even if something is not working.wad do u guys think most south african prefer such mediocrity?..and u get in Etv, the only or the main advertisement is for wwe,y is that?
