Alec Baldwin has joined the cast for 'Rock of Ages'.
The '30 Rock' star is the latest big name to sign up for the Adam Shankman-directed film - a big screen adaptation of the hit musical - following in the footsteps of Tom Cruise, Julianne Hough and Mary J. Blige.
Writing on twitter, Adam said: "Based on info I got today, I'm gonna confirm Alec Baldwin as Dennis in Rock Of Ages. Hollah. (sic)"
In a separate tweet, Shankman added: "Can't wait to start #rockofagesmovie. Julianne Hough, alec Baldwin, Mary j Blige, Tom cruise confirmed. I love my cast. More to come. (sic)"
Alec will play Dennis Dupree, an ex-rocker hanging onto his glory days while he runs the Rock of Ages nightclub.
It was recently revealed Tom Cruise is going to be a "rock 'n' roll god" in the movie.
The 48-year-old actor has signed up to play ageing musician Stacee Jaxx and has been taking voice lessons for his role as well as studying the 80s rock songs which feature in the storyline so he gets everything right.
Adam said: "I think we're going to see him every drop the rock 'n' roll god! I'm very excited. He's so committed to doing it. He's pouring himself in this part in a way I've never had an actor do . It's pretty intense."
