Coming up on 3rd Degree this Tuesday:

Episode title: The Rainbow Nation Myth

Broadcast date: Tuesday, 29 March 2011.

Teaser ...

Is racial tension in South Africa escalating? As the race issue flares up yet again, experts warn that we’re on a slippery slope: spewing racial stereotypes is a dangerous trend which serves to divide, rather than to unite our nation.

We’ve had Steve Hofmeyr’s ludicrous suggestions that white Afrikaners are being ethnically cleansed, Kuli Roberts’ distasteful depiction of coloureds as breeders on a mission, comments by government spokesman Jimmy Manyi, revealing what some call his racist tendencies.

It seems the rainbow nation is beginning to crack, if it ever existed at all.

This week 3rd Degree asks: Is our rainbow nation a myth?

3rd Degree is on e.tv on Tuesdays at 21h30.

Good work Debra, we are all responsible to make change and the first person to change is myself before looking at others. Facing the truth is difficult and we should learn that reconciliation is a long process. we owe it to our future generation to make the rainbow nation work. we should not tolerate leaders that are practicing racism because their goals are selfish and of a short term benefit for the minority.

I have just given the show as well as Debora a rating of 1 and the system came back and told me I rated them a 10. Maybe that is why it is still on air. Debora Patta’s interview with Steve last night was an unprofessional disgrace. She cannot have any opinion about his views, because she never gave him a chance to air it. I am disappointed in Steve that he sat it out. I would have left. Debora, if you don’t want to listen to someone’s opinion, don’t ask him. If you do ask, then be prepared to listen.

Debora is self opinionated person that do not tolerate anyone that differs from her. The show has become her and only her opinion.

I think when she was asked to leave e-news that really broke her spirit and she is just continuing with 3rd degree nje...

I personally did not find fault with her way of interviewing Steve.  He did not "sit and take it"  He was rude and opinionated.  Just because she has no tolerance for racist remarks, does not make her a bad interviewer.  She simply drew him out to show his true colours to the nation.
