Villains have the power to make or make a show.

These days they have been the one character that brings all sort of drama in a soapie. As the one character that is evil,manipulative & selfish the possibilities are endless.

Lucky we are that in our soapies we have quite a number of villain characters that keep us entertained and really glued to our screens, here we include the likes of BARKER HAINES, GITA MCGREGOR etc ...

Let's discuss them here individually:

BARKER HAINES (isidingo) - this here is the man that truly is the definition of a villain. We have seen this man clinche deals using the best of criminal & manipulative ways.

This man demands respect en it is given 2 him.There is just no way one can keep this man down - he will rise again.

DAVID/FRANCO GENARO (rhythm city) - at first this was the character that really gave us goose-bumps. This was one of the few villains that did all the killngs himself and he really was a good character to watch. 

Now DAVID/FRANCO is slowly losing that evil in him. When a villain gets away with everythng without even breaking a sweat, now that just kills the whole character for me.These days GENARO doesn't have any competition which makes him a GOD. If they could give him some competition it'd b good for the whole storyline.

KENNETH MASHABA (generations) - here we are talking about real talent going to waste. Here we have a villain who is bad to the bone and its the same story: no real competition or no real hero trying to save the day.

Kenneth has really become part of the furniture at GENERATIONS, which is not good for any character - especially a villain. good thing he is leaving.

GITA MCGREGOR (7de laan) - this is the one woman that really shocked & suprised me. JODI SILVA was just a normal character when she was in ISIDINGO but when she joined 7DE LAAN she was on fire.

Her character is one of the thngs that has attracted me to 7de laan these days. She's just a bad girl at heart and she really has got a lot in store for the viewers of 7de laan.

DANIEL NYATHI (scandal) - we haven't really seen the true colours of MR NYATHI but he has shown that he has a lot in store as he tries to re-build his life again. One must truly observe him to conclude whether he is a villain at heart.

CHEREL DE VILLIERS-HAINES LE ROUX (isidingo) Saving the best for last ... ISIDINGO is the number one soapie that understands the true meaning of a villain.

Here we have the only villain who has really been up & down, knows the good life & the bad life. Many stress that she gets away with everythng but i think she really hasnt done anythng yet.

Michelle Botes brings so much life to this character that one sometimes forgets that she's just acting.She knows how to survive en how to get out of trouble.

Many have said she brings devil to shame with her evil doings.This is the character that was just a gold digger but when she met barker, it is barker that is somehow responsible for the crazy, evil woman cherel is today.

One really is glued to the small screens these days as the witch of the deep is at work and it is a sure thng that she's still to give us a whole lot of drama.

Watch them villains for yourself and decide which one is the best for yourself coz talent really is what we have in our country.
