X Factor: scientology, scandal & lip-syncing

X Factor InTENsity

While InTENsity got the glee crushed out of them by the public vote this week, the X Factor has been rocked by scandal.

There's been so much dirrrt going on in the past week that no-one seems to care who stays and who goes. The singing's become the least important factor of what's been happening - particularly because there are moments where the contestants aren't singing at all.

You probs spotted the reality low blow as it happened during the Results Show? Lip-syncing. In the group number that opened the show.

LeRoy suddenly embodied his true age for the first time when he lost the plot during the performance. One moment everyone was singing with the music and next thing he started singing before the music and then did a weird manoeurvre with his lips to try to catch-up - and epically failed.

leroy_lipsynching
LeRoy was already "singing" at this moment but didn't even have his mic to his lips.

Of course there was outrage when it happened live in the US on Thursday night. Twitter exploded, TV writers started wildly calling their contacts and Fox. By late Friday Fox admitted that it's true.

A show representative had this to say to The Wrap: "All survival songs are performed live, with just a backing track. For the group ensemble performance, the vocals are pre-recorded to allow acts to concentrate on preparing for their own live competitive performances on Wednesdays - this is also no different to what other competition shows do for ensemble performances."

For more about Fox's response, check out: Fox Admits 'X Factor' Lip Syncing After Contestant Is Caught On-Air.

Here's a vid. of it in case you missed the moment:

On one hand I feel cheated and annoyed - as one always does with any lip-syncing and auto-tuning - but on another I'm almost grateful. The reason: InTENsity were so iffy during their final battle to stay - that one guy who sang so out of tune especially - that it got me wondering ... isn't better than having to suffer through a group number that's beyond bad?

The judges homes: auto-tuned?

This isn't the first accusation that the show's been meddling with their voices. At the time of the judges' homes their singing was so perfect there was speculation on TVSA that they'd been tweaked.

Now that we know it happened during the Results Show I'd put my head on a block those performances were auto-tuned - no-one sounds that good outside. This annoys me much more because it was their audition and we really needed to hear what they sounded like naturally.

Dexter Jagger claims he ditched the show

In other news - which you may have seen in the TVSA news headlines - Dexter's claiming that he asked Nicole to get rid of him because he didn't want to sing pop songs.

In an interview with Billboard he said that he wanted to sing rock songs and wasn't happy that he couldn't. He also said that he wasn't happy with the show focusing on his homelessness as much they did.

I believe it all - except the part where he asked Nicole to get rid of him. I don't believe a word of that. All that crying he did to be on the show suggests he'd never have asked to leave.

Neither the show nor Nicole have commented on what he's had to say.

Stacy Francis = scientologist, aaaaaargh!

Those of you who've been annoyed by Stacy's constant crying were correcto to be suspicious: seems she's a total scam. And she's a scientologist so she's involved in the Tom Cruise lunacy.

What she's been telling us about her abusive husband and how she's never had the opportunity to sing may verrrry well be a lie.

The dirt broke on the Why We Protest forum thread right here: whyweprotest: stacy francis and it's been exploding ever since.

Turns out Stacy's had many more musical opportunities than she claims and people are coming forward with stories saying that her husband didn't abuse her as she says he did.

At first it all stayed on the forums and then it hit Perez Hilton, who's now convinced that the evidence proves that she's been lie'ing - he's calling her a "disgusting liar".

Stacy responded saying that she can't believe he's responded as he has because they were "friends" before it all happened. She claims he messaged her to say he really likes her and hopes she wins. She's also saying that he's hooked up with her X to slander her  - all of which Perez denies.

These are some of Perez's exposés:

Stacy Francis Has Been Telling The Same Story On Other Music Competitions!

More Photos Of X Factor's Stacy Francis 'Being Unemployed' Surface!

Remember When X Factor Liar Stacy Francis Denied Ever Making A Solo Album? Yup, She Lied Again! Here's PROOF!

As for the whole scientology thang ... Stacy's listed as a "celebrity scientologist" on a scientology website. Note that the entry was made in 2006: Celebrity Scientlogists - Stacy Francis.

Too much unnatural beef

Simon Conflicted
Simon "conflicted" about who to send home.

There's been a lot of US criticism directed towards Simon and the production, most specifically for the beefs between him and the judges - people saying that it's too acted and scripted and detracting from the show's credibility.

I agree with this 100% - particularly when Simon chose to save InTENsity instead of The Stereo Hoggz when he'd just gushed to the Hoggz about them being the best band in the world. Bah! It didn't make any sense that he wouldn't choose them so it came across as embarassingly obvious that he chose InTENsity simply to be "otherwise".

Season 2 confirmed

Amidst all this, the show's been picked up for a second season next year. The news was announced last week and, as we saw, Simon confirmed it on the show.

What's with the host?

There's also been criticism of host Steve Jones - that he's arb and that you forget what he looks like when you look away. I agree. I reckon they'll ditch him for Season 2.

Ya, I'm not feeling Steve, but he is not bad as a presenter. Re: Controversy. I bet simon would make up more if he could. He loves it when the artists, the show, are surround with controversy, so this doesn't bother him. Pity though that when the acts are being smeared, the public realy don't vote, (thinks MishaB from the uk). Stacey...phoney phoney phoney!!!!

I think the groups do not work for competitions like these!

Tru dat Vesa, a group just won't win. But its refreshing to have them in the competion, at the very least what x factor does is, it launches them, they leave xfactor with a fan base. I like Lakoda Rain, they remind me of the Wilson Philips lady band and I loooved their outfits on live 2. Stereo Hoggs, I'm getting annoyed that only one guy sings!

Stereo Hoggs, I'm getting annoyed that only one guy sings!

Yeah, and I think it puts pressure on him as he has to do wonders vocally all by himself. But their choreography was on point!

I have complained about Steve from the auditions stages, he is not my type of presenter at all, Even Mariah's buby, Nick would have been better, how i enjoy him on AGT.  I don't like Stacy at all and i can't get over how good Leroy looks at his age...

i dont see any talent in Melanie - she is plain can sign.

Drew is an a full package at her age and being able to tell Simon what she wants and how is should be done and doing it perfectly is x factor

as for stacey me i got bored when she mentioned that she missed because of the ex saying bhlar bhlar bhlar....

marcus - wrong song choice for the week

Rachel - is feeling the pressure now

Hoggz - @ GA that could have been the reason to elimanate them because there is only one singer. at this stage it shouldnt be easy to spot who is the lead singer.

Astro - wow he nailed it, perfectly

The risk got voted out - XFACTOR UK, no one saw it coming....
As for Johnny - boy that was talent... he is also gone

Nicole is not a good judge, mentor and is lucky that her group is very good

07 Nov 2011 16:47

Oh my word @babye, I LOVE Johny, how can he be eliminated, I'm gonna watch later, I heard he butchered his song trying to be 'butch', oh shame, my sweet adorable johny:(. I won't Miss The Risk, pity coz they all are vocaly strong unlike stereo Hoggs. I don't forsee a future for them shame, for Johny, I PRAY he'll get signed.

07 Nov 2011 16:54

But wait @babye...I don't thinl Marcus can get it wrong in my eyes, I adooore him. He lights up my 80s/90s soul heart. I think that Bobby song was perfect, and the dance moves awww, haikhona. I loved him, I lovbe him. I pray to God Astro doesn't loose the 90s hip hop influence. Can't stand bo drake le bo lil wayne, he also 'caters to me'..lol, my old school hip hop heart that is. RACHEL RACHEL Rachel, she sang that Gamu Nhengu version of the song well ill give it to her, but Shame on Simon for not crediting Gamu.

Marcus was just too flat for me................................

its amazing how american mothers when their kids successed its all bout them.

Drew mother its her show.

Johnny was up against Katty and they saved Katty. Johnny can sing period, he nailed that song i was crying.

its amazing how judges just change, they were all loving Johnny then all over a sudden they are all voting him out

Frankie is being used for the votes, the poor boy cannot sing. period

Green.arrow
07 Nov 2011 17:35

Yaa, I guess its all about the show wanting those they want to be on the show. I don't like Kitty, yes Cocoza has no talent. Poor Johny, :(..... Besides MischaB, no one sticks out for me in this years'UK xfactor, so ill follow Johny wherever he goes , I think this year's winner will be forgettable. And God knows they are all nauseatingly boring!!, Frankie and Johny are atleast memorable. I had hoped the show would thrive sans Simon But....I hope to be proved wrong. Love Garry thou..*blush*

07 Nov 2011 17:38

Re: the american moms, I'm glad they clearly show that the younger contestants, their mothers are there with them throughout the show. I applaud them for that.
