Outrageous, controversial Roseanne Barr returns to the Oprah Show
Roseanne Barr has been called raunchy, brash and offensive but she's also been called original, smart and wickedly funny. It's been more than 20 years since Roseanne and her hit sitcom of the same name became fixtures in American living rooms.
From 1988 to 1997, the sharp-tongued Conners tackled everyday family issues with outlandish wit on Roseanne. Off screen, Roseanne's life was no laughing matter. In 1990, she left her husband of 16 years to begin a roller coaster relationship with Roseanne writer and fellow comedian Tom Arnold.
That same year, Roseanne sang the National Anthem at a San Diego Padres baseball game and offended millions, including President George Bush Sr., who called her rendition "disgraceful".
A year later, Roseanne dropped a bombshell when she publicly accused her parents of sexually abusing her as a child.
Although her personal life played out repeatedly in the tabloids, scandals couldn't stop Roseanne, and her show remained a hit. The curtain finally fell on her groundbreaking series in 1997 after nine seasons.

Living Legend Debbie Reynolds and her daughter, icon Carrie Fisher
The true-life tales of Hollywood icons Debbie Reynolds and daughter Carrie Fisher seem almost tailor-made for the world of glitz and glam in which they lived.
Debbie was just 19 years old when she danced her way into movie history alongside Gene Kelly in the classic musical Singin' in the Rain. Audiences also adored Debbie as the innocent southern beauty in the popular movie Tammy and the Bachelor. Her turn in The Unsinkable Molly Brown earned her an Oscar nomination.
The starlet married singing sensation Eddie Fisher in 1955, and the couple was immediately hailed as America's sweethearts. Their marriage seemed like a Hollywood fairytale with the births of their two children - daughter Carrie and son Todd.
In a rare appearance together, Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds discuss their relationship, the Elizabeth Taylor scandal and Carrie's mental breakdown.
