(It's much better than smackworthy Pretty Little Liars)

Lying Game
Premiere date:  Friday, 16 December 2011 at 20h30

The Lying Game

Inspired by the Sara Shepard (Pretty Little Liars) book series of the same name, the series follows long-lost twins Emma and Sutton.

Separated under mysterious circumstances, Sutton was adopted by the wealthy Mercer family in Phoenix, while Emma grew up in the foster system. When the twins reunite as teenagers, they keep it a secret.

While Sutton goes in search of the truth, Emma takes over her life and discovers more secrets and lies than she could have imagined.

It's a season of secrets, seduction and life-and-death stakes as the twins continue to expose the skeletons in their family closet. Emma and Ethan's love is stronger than ever, but their relationship is tested by questionable motives and accusations.

With Sutton's disappeance, Emma and Ethan don't know whether Sutton is missing or dead. Meanwhile, Char's aunt Annie has returned to town after many years, bringing back old memories and secrets that Alec and Ted would like to keep in the past.

The series stars Alexandra Chando, who looks like Nina Dobrev a.k.a Elena on The Vampire Diaries.

Mad Love
Premiere date: Tuesday, 20 December 2011 at 19h30

Mad Love

A comedy about a quartet of New Yorkers - two who are falling in love and two who despise each other... at least for now. Ben, a lawyer, is a hopeless romantic trying to build a relationship with Kate, a beautiful, smart girl whom Ben thinks is the woman of his dreams.

Larry, Ben's unrefined best friend and co-worker, is a guy who doesn't believe in love and has a long track record as the third wheel. Connie, Kate's roommate, works as a nanny and finds Larry aggravating... or does she?

Larry and Connie have a lot in common, but refuse to let their guard down long enough to see it.

Shameless
Premiere date: Tuesday, 20 December 2011 at 22h00

Shameless large

William H. Macy stars as Frank Gallagher - the proud single dad of six smart, spirited and independent kids, who without him would be... perhaps better off.

The Gallaghers may not have much in the way of money or rules, but they know who they are - and they're absolutely, wildly, unapologetically Shameless.

A headsup that we've updated the section with the Royal Variety Performance - it wasn't on last Old Year's Eve but it returns this year.
