SABC3 will be seeing in the New Year with Adele's Live At The Royal Albert concert. It was recorded during her Live tour in London in September this year and was released on DVD at the end of November.
It airs on Saturday, 31 December at 20h30 in a two-hour special and features Adele performing tracks from both her 19 and 21 albums.
Both of which I have. The crazy thing is I've only ever listened to each of them once - the day I got them and that was it. The reason: they make me so unbelievably emOtional I'm too terrified to listen to them again. Ha!
I see them on the rack and I'm like: "Nokay then, not today - maybe another time." The thing is, I think Adele's brilliant and I lurve all her tracks but they're honestly too much for me too handle.
If I'm out and about at the shops and they're playing one of her numbers I have to cover my eyes and throat muscles 'cos I get so choked up. Even when a loser slaughters them on a reality show they have such a huge impact I take at least 20 minutes to get my emotions intact afterwards - no matter how badly they sing.
It isn't only the lyrics but there's something about the actual tunes of them too - like one little note here or there can set me off. It's nuts yet cool because in this day and age where everything's so generic and emotionless it's rad that there's someone out there who so emO it's too much too cope with.
What does she make you feel?
