The Amazing Race 18: a blur on SONY

TAR 2 Jaime

Playboy centrefold Jaime and her bestie Cara got themselves eliminated from The Amazing Race 18 last night after Jaime suffered a meltdown of dinosaur proportions.

My heart really went out to her as she fought to piece together that impossible puzzle. Once she started falling off the ladder I knew they were doomed and decided I would have made a dramatic exit by smashing the dino with the ladder instead of wasting more energy on trudging to the pitstop.

It was a fun episode, in keeping with the season so far, except I've been getting distracted thinking about what the show looks like. Is it my reception/TV/set-up or is the picture quality noticably bad for you too?

There's a big difference in the picture quality between TAR and Celebrity Apprentice on M-Net and I don't understand why. Obviously the quality's going to be better when it comes to the M-Net HD channel but it's much better on M-Net too, a regular channel like SONY.

You don't see it so much in the above screengrabs because they've been converted to analogue but digitally, on-screen, The Amazing Race is blurry, with dulled colours while the Apprentice is crisp and bright.

Both shows are the same when it comes to their specs so you'd they'd look exactly the same. The fact that they don't suggests it must be something to do with the way SONY's broadcast of the series. Is it happening for you too?
