So ice-cream speaks to my heart, chocolate heals it when its broken, I dont mind the occasional beer. I know its all very great for my figure, I suppose in a world where the society defines beauty, its difficult to really not care what people think.
I have had my fair share of awkward silences. I recall going to a casting audition arriving rather flustered I plonked my bum on the nearest seat. I reached out for the forms on the table, when I realised as usual I didn't bring a pen. So I then turned to the young lady sitting next to me and asked if i could borrow hers. She gave me a quirky smile and handed me the pen, unable to contain herself she asked "not to be rude or anything, but are you here for the ***** casting". I paused before repying, to take a look around the waiting room, only to find glaring eyes on skinny faces staring back at me all eager to hear how i would respond to the question. It was then I realised; that I a full figured beautiful women was an intruder an outsider, who just didnt quite fit into the room filled with skinny women who looked like little girls...
That experience really shook me and at that point I realised how cruel people can be. Just because I was not as small as all the other ladies in that room, they naturally assumed that I was lost, I was big and therefore I didn't fit.
What is Beauty? The Oxford dictionary defines beauty as a combination of qualities, such as shape, colour, or form, that pleases the aesthetic senses, especially the sight. Not a very appealing definition since the modern person defines beauty according to what jean size you wear, the bigger it is the less attractive you become, well atleast in the society's eyes. I am a full figured women and love every inch of my curvacious body. We are bombarded with images of skinny women in all their petit glory...they are flawless, have gorgeous husbands and drive sports cars...screw it I love food! Beauty is the ability to love youself to be truly content with who you are and not being ashamed to share it, true beauty lies in all of us, so take off your judgemental shades and view people the way it was intended...through their soul
