"If you love something, set it free....if it comes back, it's yours..if it doesn't, it was never meant to be" - anonymous
This quote sums up what unconditional love really is, knowing you love something so much that if it requires your freedom, even at the detriment of your feelings, it's happiness is more important.
People have an emotion less painful and heartbreaking if they have to let “things" go, compared to letting go of people. Especially people whom they are romantically involved with and are still in love with. Letting people go is as painful, or worse, especially if the person chooses to leave.
Losing someone who chooses to not be a part of your life, whilst you see yourself in their future and life, is hard. When fate decides to change the course of your life, that is just chaotic. Paige and Leo (Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum) are a happy newlywed couple whose lives are changed by a car accident that puts Paige into a coma.
Waking up with severe memory loss, Paige has no memory of Leo, a confusing relationship with her parents (Sam Neill and Jessica Lange), and an ex-fiancé (Scott Speedman) she may still have feelings for. Despite these complications, Leo endeavours to win her heart again and rebuild their marriage.
This movie is inspired by real events about Kim and Krickitt Carpenter, who wrote a book about their marriage, also known as The Vow. Ten weeks after their wedding on 18 September 1993, the couple was in an automobile accident in which Krickitt suffered brain trauma, which erased memories of her romance with Kim as well as their recent marriage. Kim, however, was still madly in love with his wife, although his wife viewed him as a stranger after the accident. (source: wikipedia)
I loved this movie. I will give it a good 4.5/5 Segs stars because I am a romantic junkie. I genuinely believe in the message this movie has about taking marriage vows seriously and believing in love enough to give your relationship your best without being abusive.
The movie opens at Ster-Kinekor theatres on the 11th May 2012.
