Multichoice gives feedback on DISH magazine poll
In response to subscriber feedback about the recent changes to the Dish Magazine, MultiChoice recently conducted a poll amongst its subscribers to determine each subscriber’s preference for the Dish Magazine. With the poll now closed, we would take this opportunity to give feedback to our subscribers on the way forward.
Approximately a quarter of our South African subscriber base exercised their choice during the Dish Magazine Poll. As expected, we received a mixed bag of responses with some wanting the lifestyle magazine only, others wanting the schedules with the lifestyle section and yet others not wanting a magazine at all.
As a result of the feedback and for practical reasons we will be producing a single version of the Dish Magazine, which will include both the lifestyle section and the schedules.
This magazine will go to all subscribers who indicated a positive response to receiving any form of the Dish Magazine. Subscribers who did not respond, as well as those subscribers who indicated that they did not want to receive a Dish Magazine at all, will not be sent one.
As a result of long lead times for printing and distribution, the Dish Magazine will only be available to subscribers as of September 2012.
We will continue to give our subscribers the choice of opting in or out of receiving a Dish Magazine. They will able to make a choice on an ongoing basis, using any of the communication tools mentioned below that is most convenient to them:
• SMS YES or NO to 30622 with your smartcard number.
• Send an email to
enquiries@multichoice.co.za and put “Dish Magazine” in the subject line. Please remember to add your smartcard number and to indicate YES or NO.
• Log on to
www.dstv.com, proceed to the self-service section, go to edit your profile, then change the Dish magazine setting to either YES or NO
In order to ensure that we do not miss anything, we will be sending a letter to our subscribers confirming the choice they have exercised and that it is correctly captured on our side.
“We would like to thank our subscribers for taking the time to indicate their preference for Dish Magazine. We heard from subscribers through sms, email, online and the call centre; and also spoke to some of our older subscribers on the telephone. We appreciate the feedback and would like to thank you for your continued support. We also apologize to those loyal subscribers whom we inconvenienced during this interim period.” Collins Khumalo, CEO of MultiChoice South Africa.
