Women buying condoms

Women find it difficult to purchase condoms at retail, drug or cosmetic stores. As a woman you cannot even make choice of the kind of condoms you prefer to use without being judged as a slut. Like really it is 2012 and safe sex is for the cool kids.
Imagine walking into a retail store and looking at all the types of condoms they have, from brand, to size, to flavor and making your choice. We should even have store assistants that will be able to assist us if we have questions about the products. Why promote safe sex if we will not even educate the retail staff to provide assistance?
I want to walk up to any store and purchase a month’s supply of condoms and should the lady/gentleman at the till give a funny look, I will respond “Yes, bitch I protect myself OK”

The only time we can be sure that the ads about safe sex, HIV/AIDS and STD’s are successful, is when no one will be shy about buying condoms in public. Otherwise, we still have a long way to go mates!

I actually do not have a problem buying now. I used to send my friend to buy for me and this other time she was not around and I needed some so I thought to myself why the hell should I put myself at risk of all the sickness in the world while i have a choice. Hell no and I went in and bought and now I buy all the time

i even buy them over the counter at Checkers or Spar since they do not stalk them on the shelves, no big deal, if the cashier judges me then its her/his problem

I am glad that we have ladies who have taken this bold step to buy condoms without being shy about it. I want to buy like 10 boxes at once for the month you know, LOL. Its crazy because we all preach safe sex, safe sex, safe sex but even guys I have spoken to find it hard to buy 5 boxes at a go, hahaha mara they can buy a packet anytime, anywhere and anyhow.

I once saw Somizi buying a pack at some garage and the attendants were all staring at him like he's performing some amazing stunt lol.........

I always feel pity for my friend who needs latex free ones cos they are hard to come by and are more expensive

I've neva seen the female ones on sale in shops come to think of it .....................but that one is bad news cos i hear u have to wear it for at least 6 hrs before the deed u will punish yourself the whole afternoon and someone comes home and tells u they are too tired for the act lol

lol lol lol... i have learnt that being embarrassed especially about certain things is really useless. So what if I am buying condoms at 2am? am i the only person who has sex at that time? and its not like the cahier will see me again on the street and show abangani bakhe ukuthi "here is the chick who bought condoms at 2am" even if she does but like what is really wrong with that? People who get embarrased are usually people who look only at the bigger picture and not look at the details, So if you and your man or some guy u just met at a bar want to get it on at 2am and you aint got cd's in you wallet just go to the damn garage and buy them!! being embarrassed or judged by some complete stranger you will never see again is much more better than being ho*ny while sleeping next to a guy but you can not do anything, or even worse taking a chance of falling preg or getting HIV!!

hahaha...ur cracking me bommy...so what if ul c me on the streets and remember me as the lady who bought condoms @02am, atleast m protected...o tla kgalla blind knwin m getting it all even ka 02am...hahahaha

Atleast you'd be getting them condoms, that shows you are responsible! Most people who judge are the ones who end getting jiggy without protection cos they are worried ukuthi abantu bazothini but it's their lives they are putting in jeopardy! The very same people whom you were scared by their comments are going to ask you umaseugola ukuthi why didn't you use a condom!
A human being is a complicated species to understand, just hold your head high, with that back off attitude.....

Well done ladies. One day is one day. I've seen the female ones at the clinic at work, wanted to take, see what they looked like, but I cudnt:(...

Kerrie
12 Jul 2012 15:39

hayi, the female ones like Mangqezu said, are a lot of work.......i've never tried them though. i wonder if having it on all those hours before the act isn't irritating, i mean walking about feeling something in your vjj is very uncomfortable and like she said also, you'll have it on for those hours and then boyfriend or hubby tells you today you just cuddling up and having a kissing session, no hanky-panky......

bomyy
12 Jul 2012 15:44

so female condom is a fail

Kerrie
12 Jul 2012 15:59

not a fail per se, it's just that it's not commonly used and those who have used it complain of the discomforts........maybe if you give it a try you might prefer it to the male one.....

mangqezu
12 Jul 2012 16:06

yeh its the discomfort that most peeps complain about plus it looks very huge

bomyy

If the female condoms are cumbersome (Truth is they're only difficult and uncomfortable the first three or so uses) ... but male condoms ladies and keep stocked up .

Brother got no condoms on him ... reach into your purse and hand him one.

If he has issues with you carrying condoms ... develop issues of your own at him not having them.I got condoms in my glove box, a weekly toss away in my wallet, and condoms in my night stand, and medicine cabinet in the bathroom.

I buys them with my groceries ... the Durex boxes which claim to have 12, but most of the time only as 8 to 10 .

I used to get funny stares at Pick & pay Hyper buying four of those ten packs with my groceries every month ... but not any more.

One cashier once said ... Ke-gobona every month oreka maboxi ama 5 or six ... eish abuti ... a itja Kuku ... (nice ego boost it was until they determined that I buy for my sons also, Pads and tampons for the missus & daughters, etc ...) ... after all .. ke-ntate Oa Lapa.

now ... not even a second look
