As you probably know, the ceremony takes place on Friday night (27 July) with Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle at the creative helm of the event. The theme of the ceremony is "Isles of Wonder" - the wonder will be realised to a soundtrack that represents British culture including the theme tune to
Doctor Who.
The Queen and Prince Phillip will officially open the the event and Paul McCartney will be closing it with a performance.
All of the action will air live on both SABC2 and on DStv, on
SuperSport Gold SD (Channel 204) and on SuperSport Gold HD (Channel 174).
The ceremony starts at 21h50: the broadcast on SABC2 starts with a build-up at 21h34 and the DStv broadcast starts at 21h45.
