How to submit films to Africa Magic Movies

As reported on TVSA recently, Africa Magic Movies and Africa Magic Entertainment will be available on DStv in South Africa soon.

Both channels launch on Monday, 1 October and feature films and entertainment shows from across Africa.

Word from Africa Magic Movies is that the channel's always on the lookout for new fliks to air and has an open door policy when it comes to submissions.

So how you do get a movie onto the channel?

The first step is to produce it yourself.

Step two: submit it to the channel and if they like it they'll license it from you for a period of time or for a set number of screenings.

This from the channel 's marketing manager Gideon Khobane: "You send the movie, the channel managers view it and if they're all happy with it, they'll make you an offer e.g. we'll pay you so much to license it for six months or however long we'd like it to screen it for."

If you're a film maker with a movie that you'd like to get seen you can get in touch with the channel by e-mailing Gideon directly at this address: gideon.khobane@mnet.co.za.

I'm very delighted to write this confidential mail to Africa Magic Movies that I am a film maker based in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria.

I just produced  a Movie title; IMPATIENT GENERATION 1&2 of which I would like to sell it to Africa Magic Movies. This movie is all about people who cannot endure their circumstances. They believe that God is slow in answering their prayers.

That I Racal DeLove Brown is the rightful owner of the about mentioned movie which I have translated from English to French.

Hope to hearing from you.

And Africa Magic wouldn't be interested in a series or a soapie? Something we can air over a longer period of time. It creates more hype and your target market would lap it all up. I have nothing against Nollywood.... it would just be nice to see a South African product there as well.
