Silly Poetic Me was watching Motswako on SABC2 last night on 26 November on 2012. I have never been raped or abused but I know people who have and oh my gosh...can we please have a standing ovation for Bridget Masinga, .I was (and still am) truly inspired #nuff sed.
This one here is dedicated to the likes of Bridget Masinga, Chriselda Kananda and those '14 unsung heroines'...
Woman I Am
Woman I am, woman I was
I was a woman that used to be...free
I useed to live, breathe and see happy
Untill sadness blinded me and tragedy defined me
I tried to find and look throught the eyes of smile's soul
Reality had nothing to show...
Cold fact wouldn't let me see waht me and free could be
So I taught me..not to feel
Plausible perfection of pain pierced persistently
Somehow I smiled defiantly...
Somehow through my empty existence... I decided to live
Then tragedy no longer defined me...Instead ...it taught me how to love
Truly
The woman I am
The woman I was
The woman I'll be.
