Miss SA 2012 happened at the
Sun City Superbowl on Sunday and the Television South Africa team was there in full force.
On Saturday me and my family took the N4 to Bokone Bophirima (North West) to attend the pageant. Yours truly was booked at the Sun City Main Hotel, courtesy of Sun International. Now there are no words to describe the feeling of being in Sun City - as their slogan says, it was a Million Thrills. Fabulous hotel room followed by a fabulous show and my stay was a memorable one.
Sun International had planned a cocktail event for Saturday night which I was unfortunately unable to attend although I had my accreditation. The lousy reason being that because of the excitement of going to the City of the Sun I left my Saturday outfit in Pretoria for some reason eish.
I woke up at the beautiful resort on Sunday and oh was it a glorified day - everything awesome. Around 17h50 all paths led to the Superbowl where we were greeted by a very beautiful stage and table set-up. I must say, this year they blew me away.
The event went on with me confused as who to actually support, especially with most of the ladies being from the Republic down in the Western Cape. I was convinced Cape Town was going to win and I secretly hoped it was not the lady from
Nkandla KZN that did. Oops, don't even ask. What a beautiful show it was though.
Congratulations to Marilyn Ramos, Miss SA 2012.
Spotted the Ferguson's looking very good, here with 1 of the Miss SA judges, Sonia Sedibe.
Anele Mdoda and fellow judge. (Can I be forgiven? I seriously didn't get his name.)
I walked up to Minnie Dlamini, asked if I could take a pic and she agreed with a smile. She kept sitting though, making sure that I didn't get to see those curves ... she's so beautiful.
Zakes Bantwini kept us entertained.
Had a lovely chat with Uyanda Mbuli and she said to me: "You know MXO?" to which I replied "YES," and snapped them. She is so calm, I reminded her of the rants about her on TVSA, especially after the "I will sue," issue that happened with former TVSA writter Brown Shuga.
*Coughs* TVSA's Toody with blogger Tsepy who works at MNET Cares.
... and of course I had my fair share of hanging on the ladies for the night :-) LOL
With Charne who was one of the Finalists.
Toya Delazy perfomed at the show as well as the after party - I dig this gal so whenever people ask about her perfomance I am biased and can never say it was bad. I saw a lot of tweets and Facebook messages about how disappointing her live perfomance was but of course I didn't see any of that.
Even the Gabi who sat next to me at table 73 tweeted that "Live perfomances are not meant for everyone". Like I said, I love this gal - there's something about her and Akhona from Generations that just amuses me *hides*.
A BIG Thank You to Sun International for another fabulous event and stay at Sun City and to Television South Africa editor Tashi Tagg, we been doing this for a while and we still continuing with this reality that was once a dream..Much Love!
