The only reason why people watch Ganerations is out of habit and loyalty not because its the best soapie around just like ANC is the worst party but has a massive following. #TeamScandal

Im shocked that Muvhango is on 4million,i jst hope scandal takes some awards @ the SAFTAs this year

I must say that I don't get the numbers, they just look fishy to me. For instance aast week RC was on 1.6 million and now it is at 2.5 million, now that is a major leap.

@Ingenuity, I think the Afcon really affected the ratings

16 Feb 2013 12:04

Afcom did affect ratings, because games started at 5 sometimes and finished around RC time

Soccer had Muvhango on 4 Million cos people has nothing else to watch. As for RC who in their right mind still watches that crap. #FormerTeamRC

@Kem Moc, apparrently 2.6 million people.

It's amazing that @Kem Moc you say it's out of habit that people watch Generations. It was taken out of SABC 1 to 2 but still it beats the hell out of everybody. If it's habit so people still follow it to the other channel? Let's admit it, people love Generation even when they deny it, they can't miss it. Mina I admit I do, other stories I don't like but I like the fact that it's a black show and shows rich black people instead of poor township people who never succeed like in RC and I see Scandal has followed in perpetuating the black sterotype with that black family and a kid who wants to play soccer - how unoriginal

That 2.6 is reason why we have crappy productions cropping up everywhere.. All I'm saying is RC is no longer what it used to be. The day South African television audience decides to have standards is the day we will see quality broadcasting.

The day we have money you shall see quality. Come work behind the scenes and you will realise how much budget affects quality. Comparing SA productions with American ones is ridiculous. Those shows have humongous budgets and I mean humongous. I think our writers are doing great considering what they get. Just watch the low quality of Mzantsi Magic, it's not because the writers are stupid, the budgets they work with are ridiculous. We are in a third world country not the first like America, no one is investing in entertainment when there's needs in education and development of people's live. They see entertainment as luxury. That's what our creatives in entertainment are dealing with, it's even hard to get business to get invloved. Why do you think the Wild failed? They tried pumping money to get quality they failed. Why? Because it's unsustainable in a country that doesn't have much
