Snapshots of Generations' first episode.
From Monday, 2 September
Generations will be blasting to the past with special appearances and episodes to commemorate the show's 20 years on air.
The soapie first debuted in February 1994 and has chosen September to start marking the 20-year milestone to coincide with Heritage Month and Heritage Day on 24 September.
One of the highlights of the month will be the return of 20 former Generations stars. A different former Generations character will put in an appearance each evening, from 2 September. Many of them are going to appear subtly - some will have lines while some won't - they'll simply appear in the background, to be spotted and recognised.
The show will be running a competition to coincide with their appearances. The final details for it aren't available yet but we assume it'll have to do with recognising the characters and actors.
SABC1 will also be airing 20 episodes from across the series. The episodes are being chosen based on milestones that changed the soapie. The broadcast times of when these episodes will air haven't been finalised yet - we'll keep you posted when they are.
