Idols 9 Top 5 31-10-2013

Idols 9 is down to only five contenders for the title and this week, at the Moreleta Park Church Auditorium in Pretoria, the Top 5 will each perform two songs: a hit from the Nineties (90s) and a hit from the Naughties ('00s).

Brenden, who hit the Bottom 3 for the first time last week, chose to redeem himself with Usher’s “Nice And Slow” from the Nineties and “Jailer” from the Nigerian singer-songwriter Aṣa.

Bunny chose Robin S’s 1990 hit “Show Me Love” and a more recent local hit “Ndiredi” from Simphiwe Dana, as her two numbers.

Musa is going to “Bump And Grind” like R. Kelly back in the Nineties and for his Naughties hit he selected Dave Hollister’s “Can’t Stay”.

Sonke is covering The Fugees’ version of “Killing Me Softly” - which was a massive hit back in 1995 - and then he’ll go upbeat with Michael Bublé’s “Haven’t Met You Yet”.

Zoe is going old-school with the Janet Jackson classic “Together Again”, before rocking out with Destiny’s Child’s “Survivor”.

Nice and slow by Usher?! Hay I dont know about this choice, even Bump 'n Grind for that matter, but we'll see.
I see Zoe has established what works for her and left out anything thats gonna challenge her vocally, good for you girl for recognising your strengths and weaknesses, thats very crucial at this stage of the competition.
Good luck to all!

Good song choices by Zoe. Bunny.. I don't know either of the songs and I'm sure many others also don't know them and that will count against her.

Robin S "Show Me Love" is a big show song I think vocally she will pull it off. Brendan's 90s choice will suit him well but his 00's choice not so much. "Jailer" is an excellent song that needs vocal prowess which Brendan has been lacking for the last couple of weeks. Zoe has come a long way. Week after week she has made some of the best song choices, with "Together Again" she will get the chance to she her softer side in the beginning of the song and pick it up from there on. Kind of like "Proud Mary".

I think Brenden wants out of idols judging by his song choices..... I am looking forward to Bunny I think she will bring down the house with both songs, excellent song choices.... As for Zoe I dont know if I should be excited because the songs are good but I am not sure about the shouting......... Sonke I dont know why choose a song that is so famous for being murdered by the idols hopefuls....... Musa am kinda bored buti....

Give Zoe a break every week she deserves a standing ovation and her voice is unique not everyone got a unique voice like her in the music industry stop criticizing and start appreciating her tone. Great SONG CHOICE ZOE. As for Sonke I'm so looking forward for your perfomance you and Zoe never disappoint you deliver every week. As for brenden all he does these dance is screaming and he can't hit high notes. He will be leaving next week. We ain't got time for ben 10's we need entertainment! Finish and klaar!!!!
