The SABC Board and the GCEO have amicably agreed to part ways after a two year stint in the organization. Ms. Mokhobo has committed to continue to serve the organisation diligently as the GCEO until the 28th of February 2014.
We expect all the stakeholders of the SABC to cooperate with her during this period and to give her the support that she requires. The reasons for her departure are personal and confidential.
Ms. Zandile Tshabalala, the SABC board Chairperson, said “On behalf of the Board I would like to thank Ms. Mokhobo for her positive contribution to the organization over the past 24 months. The SABC would like to wish Ms. Mokhobo well in all her future endeavours.”
The Minister of Communication, Mr. Yunus Carrim said “We are informed that this was a mutually agreed separation, and accepted by the Board. Obviously, we are concerned about stability at the SABC and urge that the vacant senior posts be filled as soon as possible”.
