I'd highly recommend ending your Valentine's weekend with the premiere of Last Tango in Halifax. It premieres on BBC Entertainment this Sunday (16 February) at 21h00 and it's a wonderful story about the timelessness of love of what a Great Love means.
It follows Alan and Celia, two widowed retirees in their seventies, who rediscover each other after 60 years. Through Facebook.
Unlike Isidingo, the show acknowledges Facebook and uses it as a vehicle to tell a grand love story.
Alan and Celia's grandchildren create Facebook profiles for them and they rediscover their love for each other after they friend-up and start corresponding.
They dated when they were at school, married other people, had families etc. and then, when they find each other on Facebook, they realise that they've never stopped loving each other.
I've seen the full first season and trust me when I tell you that it's delightful and sincere. And very funny. Both of them enter their new relationship with lots of baggage - including their daughters who cause endless troubles in their lives.
